An old fishing town on Spain's Costa Blanca against a backdrop of mountains, Moraira is a picturesque destination for a family holiday. You will find a combination of sandy and rocky beaches alternating with intriguing coves, and the climate is a sunny but temperate one. If you are looking for water sports, head for Portet Cove which was originally a safe haven for ships. It is within walking distance of the lookout tower near the Cap d'Or, from where there are spectacular views of the coastline. Don't miss the eighteenth century castle, right by the shore. Golf lovers will be pleased to know that Moraira has three golf courses. As well as spending time on the beach, you can enjoy a boat trip and admire the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. On your return, choose from a delightful array of restaurants along the shore.

Specialized in road race bikes and e-bike rentals. Reservations recommended.!
Amazing from start to finish. The bike and kit was top notch, but it's the service from Jan that really made the difference. He could not have been more friendly or helpful, from suggesting routes, tips on places to stop for lunch and even fitting out my new cleats when the bike shop let me down. Hugely knowledgeable and knows bikes better than anyone I know. Just a great guy - I will definitely be going back as soon as possible!

Well worth the trip, takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the top. Beautiful views on the way up and even better once your next to the tower. If your up for an early start then I would highly recommend going up for sunrise, breathtaking views. My fiancé proposed to me up next to the tower - just perfect. Enjoy.

Moraira's main beach, visited with family including young children. Great sandy beach, can get crowded in the summer. There is a cafe beachfront selling everything from meals to beach snacks and drinks. Waves are small, and beach stays shallow for a while. There is a blow-up waterpark thing about 100yds offshore, you can buy passes for it on the beach. My kids 6&9 had a blast on it. Parking is free at the adjacent town parking lot, but it does fill up quickly. Locally there are typical beach stores selling chairs, umbrellas, etc. There is also a vendor that rents out beach chairs and umbrellas right on the beach. There are life guards on duty. Restaurants nearby. Dresscode in the beach cafe and local restuarants is very relaxed during the day. There is also a town public bathroom nearby.

Moraira market is every Friday morning, with stalls selling everything from fruit and veg to handbags to hardware. Parking is a bit of an issue, as the market is set up in the big car park but you can always find somewhere. The fruit and veg stalls are wonderful, and there is a 'pick and mix' style sweet stall. Don't miss the churro van - fresh churros sprinkled with sugar. It's packed in the summer months, so go early.

The Castillo of Moraira is set on the seafront near the Marina and is a prominent landmark of this town. From its position you have wonderful views of the bay and the town of Calpe with its prominent rock. We didn't go inside the Castillo as each time we passed it wasn't open which was a shame.
