Aynaligol (Gilindire) Magarasi

Reviewed By zoltano421 - Budapest, Hungary

The cave is located in a beautiful environment, on a far-stretching mountainous shore. The entrance is actually in the side of the cliffs, with a staircase leading way down to the mouth of the cave. Inside, a deep and breathtaking scenery awaits, with an untouched and majestic lake at the bottom. All in all, more than worth the two-hour return trip from Alanya through winding roads because it is much more beautiful than either, more touristic and well-known caves in and around that city.

Mamure Kalesi

Anamur is a beautiful city in the South of Turkey, which has an ancient and diverse history, beautiful mountains and blue sea, many mosques and good cafes. I recommend visiting the Roman fortress, which was then an Armenian fortress and then became a Seljuk fortpost. It cost only 10 TL and you are in the 13th century.

Anamur is a beautiful city in the South of Turkey, which has an ancient and diverse history, beautiful mountains and blue sea, many mosques and good cafes. I recommend visiting Anamurium - ancient Greek. It is surprising that the arches built almost 2 thousand years ago still remain above the open sky. It cost only 1,5 $ and you are in the 4th century.

Ancient city of Diocaesarea-Olba

Reviewed By 1973LYS - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

This is really my third visit of Diocaesarea Olba. With my first and second too-short-visit, finally I was able to spend some more time in this ancient city Personally I understand there are "two parts" of Olba: *The first location - where the Hellenistic Temple of Zeus, Arch of Colonaded Street, Byzantine Gate and Roman Temple of Tyche are situated. Most of the tourists visit this location only. Entrance fee is 10 Turkish Lira. *The second location unguarded - where the grande aqueduct, roman theatre, nymphaeum. To reach this area, either by car or walking are the only options. There is no public transport as this acropolis is literally in the middle of nowhere. Behind the grande aqueduct there is vast valley of many romans' rock tombs with beautiful carving, (maybe) small church, cisterns, and more. I have no idea how vast the valley is, but if we keep walking along the valley, it may be endless. My travel partner thought the aqueduct was higher size in in ancient time too.

Mersin Forum

Loved this place. Has everything from Marks and Spencer’s, all the cafes and fast food places that you would recognise and some great shops that looked more boutique and Turkish. They even had Black Friday sales there! Great for a day out, great for gifts for taking back home and some nice restaurants near also. Only bad experience was at the hairdressers they have there which was full of very rude and arrogant men. I honestly just wanted to get up and walk out part way through getting my hair done. Otherwise everything else was great, more pricey then other places in Turkey but still loads cheaper then London!
