Merimbula Marina

Merimbula Marina is a small family owned business. Our passion is whale watching and for 8 months of the year this is what we do. May to August during the Norther Migration of the wonderful humpback whales we operate cruises out of Darling Harbour Sydney. And then for the Southern Migration from August to December we run daily cruises from Merimbula on the NSW South Coast. The Southern Migration from Merimbula is our favourite time of the year as so many whales pass close to the shore and the whale watching is sensational! Outside of the whale season we operate Scenic Discovery Cruises December to May. These cruises are a wonderful way to see the spectacular Sapphire Coast from the water and regularly sight a variety of marine life. We also operate fishing charters over the summer from Merimbula. We have 4hr Reef Fishing Charters, and during the Game Fishing Season we operate 8hr Game Fishing Charters. Private Charters can also be organised by contacting our office.

This little circuit walk is well worth the drive! The money shot opens up near the end of the loop (travelling clockwise) with a stunning layered earth vista dipping into aqua-coloured water. Lots of big ant mounds for the kids to look at also. The walk is mostly flat and suitable for all ages. Highly recommended!

Perfect place to go and chill out to watch the view or read or have a picnic. So relaxing and beautiful. Walk on the rocky shore or the sandy beach, your choice. We got to see a pod of dolphins swim not far from the shoreline which was a bit of a highlight.

Went on a night tour the other night. Absolutely fantastic experience. Don't know where to start! So amazing to experience Betongs and Potaroos prancing around our feet in one enclosure while Gliders did their thing overhead and stared at us at a very close range. Tawny Frogmouth whooshed past my ear on his way to a better view of us. I've lived in the area since 1996 and have been coming to this sanctuary regularly for many years, when it was still a wildlife park, and had only ever seen the tiniest bit of a wombat's bottom. Well, this time one of the wombats strolled right over to the fence and had a good look at us, sat down and thought about it all for a bit and then strolled off once we'd all had a good look at each other. Wonderful. So much info and chatting with the keepers which was great. Small group and very sociable. Trevor the possum another long time resident who I've never seen either in the many years he's been here. He was sitting, waiting for us to arrive and admire him. Lots of other interesting, fun and informative features. Will definitely go again and take my visitors and can absolutely recommend this sanctuary anytime, not just the night tour.
