I make guided excursions, in passenger boat (2 to 12 passengers). I propose the discovery of marine and coastal ecosystems (white bottoms, mangrove, coral, ...) on the Atlantic coast of Martinique (Francois, Vauclin, Robert).

What a day! We turned up without a reservation but Magali was very accommodating, lending us some snorkelling equipment and even providing drinking water to take with us at no extra cost. After a short but very clear briefing, we set off for what ended up being one of the most memorable experiences in Martinique. The rowing to the little islands was tough at times due to the current but once we landed on Islet Thierry all the struggles were forgotten. The midday party in the middle of the sea with some Ti Punch and homemade vegetarian accras (which were delicious!) was the highlight of the trip... that is until we got to Islet Oscar where Magali kindly arranged for us to have a wonderful meal with drinks and dancing, all for €10 per head. After some bathing, snorkelling and exploring we headed back, were shown a shower and had a great chat with Magali and Hervé. Such wonderful warm people and so passionate about their business and about Martinique. I can't recommend them enough. Merci beaucoup, Magali et Hervé! P.S. Do use higher factor suncream and reapply regularly. We managed to get burned even with the suncream.

We had the good fortune of meeting Laure and having a fabulous and relaxing 60 minute massage our last day in Martinique. We love our couples massage but never seem to make time or treat ourselves to this at home so this is always a priority for us when we go on vacation. Based on the positive Trip Adviser reviews we were thrilled to be a last minute squeeze in. We had initially wanted a couples massage but since it was very last moment we were happy for her to accommodate back to back massages which was actually a blessing in disguise. It allowed each of us to relax in her outside patio area, under a traditional thatched Caribbean canopy, with a wonderful view of the sea and a great sea breeze to match. Laure has built a private spa bungalow right next to her house. The massage bungalow was very tranquil and had soothing music and lovely smells from all the massage oils she makes herself for the massages. We each had a great and wonderful massage; it is clear that she loves what she does and is an experienced masseuse. She also speaks excellent English for those who may not speak French or limited French. Communications were great and I found it easier for us to exchange messages and confirmations via What's App. At the end of our glorious and relaxing massage she offered us a fruit juice, water and a chocolate on her patio. Getting to her location is a bit of an adventure as some of the roads are hairpin turns up steep windy roads but the view of the ocean and the banana plantations more than made up for it. Please note that she is not permitted to display signs of her business due to homeowner association rules. Waze got us to her location but be on the look at for a green mail box on the left. I have included pictures below to make it easier for travelers to find it immediately. Overall, we highly recommend this small, intimate spa for individuals and couples alike. Thanks so much Laure; So glad we saved the best for last! You are most deserving of a solid 5 perfect score...

From the name of the famous family who settled there for nearly a hundred years from 1887, the Habitation Clément is a vast agricultural area of 160 hectares, nestled in the town of Le François, in the South-East of Martinique. Dominated by a Creole house dating back to the 18th century, this site, listed as a historical monument in 1996, is home to a major heritage site, a well-known contemporary art centre and a renowned rum house in the heart of sugar cane plantations.
Our Cruise ship had called at Martinique and 6 of us quickly found a Taxi (Mini bus) just outside the port. We negotiated a fare (180 Euros Total - 30 Euros each) and the driver took us to Habitation Clement. The journey was about 30 minutes and the driver said we would need about 2 hours and that he would wait for us. The entrance fee was a further 13 Euros each. (So a total of 43 euros each person for the taxi & entrance which we thought was reasonable). You start off walking round the lovely grounds admiring the modern sculptures. Then there is the old (unused) Rum distillery building, equipment and Rum storage facilities which was interesting and then the old Plantation house to look around. The tour ends with a visit to the shop where you can taste (and purchase) some of the different rums they produce. All in all, a lovely trip and well worth the visit. The driver was waiting for us as promised and took us back to the ship.
