Wow! What a special place to visit and to buy unique souvenirs if you like. I was on a bus trip and needed to stretch my legs so I got off of my sightseeing bus near Imizamo Yethu township- when I got off the city bus a local escorted me to the Original T Bag Design showroom. When I arrived I was asked if I wanted to watch the video on the shop and it’s origins and I was also offered a cup of tea/ coffee. The video explained the project well and really left me with a good feeling about how these artisans were learning new skills and earning money to better their lives. I also met the founder Jill Heyes in store and she showed me around the studio, then to the workshop and answered all of my questions about the products, how people get involved and their projects, the designs and the skills learned. The work these artisans do is special sustainable- turning your everyday tea bag or tea labels into amazing art. The work you will see in store ranges in price, but there is something for everyone. I could have bought most things in the store. If you are on the City Sightseeing bus and need a break or want to seek Original T Bag Designs out- get off at stop 23.

Snorkling With Seals

Can't get over how much fun this was! I've always been an ocean lover, but never have the chance to explore the busy ocean life so this was the perfect trip for me! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable and made you feel safe and comfortable. The seals, on the other hand, were adorable! They're like little sea puppies and I was shocked by how many of them there were! They're all playful and curious and made the trip extremely enjoyable. After coming out the water you get some yummy hot chocolate and cookies, too!

Urban Brewing Co.

An awesome craft brewery located in the Hout Bay Harbour district. Come in and have a beer, tour our brewery, and maybe get lucky and watch our brewmaster in action! We have 4 beers on tap - all made using local Hout Bay spring water: a Weiss, a Blonde Ale, a Pilsener and a Stout.

Friendly owner and staff. Great beer and great people. Great atmosphere with the brew house being open for all to see. On our first visit, the owner even took us on a tour through the brewery. I make it a point to pop in there whenever I am in the area.

Bay Harbour Market

IMAGINE ….. a place where the creative energy and the vibrancy of Cape Town come alive in an authentic fish factory in a working harbour …. where people of all ages and cultures gather alongside one another to celebrate our unique South African spirit …. where the hustle and bustle of a boisterous market fills the air …… where local traders exchange banter with customers …. “that’s a bargain, fo sho!” … an eclectic stylish wonderland of exquisite art, craft, jewellery and fashion …. complemented by the delicious aromas of food to tempt all the senses…freshly baked breads, spicy seafood and citrus fruits … you pass a robotic mime drawing gasps from giggling kids … the sound of a township guitarist and a groovy sax …… punctuated by singing seagulls …. where the famous beauty of Chapman’s Peak looms overhead ………. and the vibe is just sommer lekker!
