Ganga Aarti Means Prayer for the River Ganga. The Ganga is holy river in India. It is worshipped as a goddess. Every day Morning and Evening Ganga Aarti is organised by Ganga Sabha at Har Ki Pauri. Morning and evening time for Aarti is according to Sunset and Sunrise. There is no entry fees or charges for the ceremony. A large number of people gather on both side of the river Ganga to experience and take part in this amazing ceremony. Ganga Lahari Mantra is chanted while making offering to Ganga "Panchamrut" anf flowers. Last part of the Ganga Aarti is special Aarti song for river Ganga which pilgrims / visitors can hear through loud speakers. Pandits will be offering Aarti during the song with special copper "Diya". During some festivals and busy season like may june overwhelming crowd gather here specially during the evening ceremony. Place to seat is difficult sometimes. It is best to reach at least one hour before the sunset time if you want to find better place.
Amazing & divine experience of Ganga Aarti in the evening!! Enjoyed more as Hotel Ganga Lehri had organised with local Guruji & we were sitting very near to main aarti place! The diyas in all the Aartis & it’s shadows in the river created magnificent view. Amazing to hear Aarti & people’s participation in it! One gets the feeling of heaven on earth !! Har har Gange!!

I was told that Pawan Dham Temple is one of the most visited Hindu temples in Haridwar. When I saw it, I wasn’t surprised. The design and layout of the temple is very distinctive. Much of the interior is decorated in a mixture of mirrors and colour glass tiles. One of the presiding deities is a Vishvarupa or universal form of Krishna. Not something I see often in Hindu temples, so it was doubly interesting.

I want to give more stars but here is the limit of only 5 stars. We (Myself and my wife) planned for a short trip to Haridwar and decided to stay in an Ashram to get the feelings of Ashram Staying. We communicated to Maa Anadamayi Ashram (Kankhal) and management allowed us to stay at their Ashram. We reached Ashram at 11.00 PM on 25/5/17. Our Staying room was big, spacious, neat and clean with attached toilet. The Ashram is adjacent to Maa Sati birth place (Sitala Temple), which is just opposite of the Ashram and Daksha Prajapati temple is about 100 meter distance. The Ganga is flowing (Canal) just beside the temple. The ghat is neat and clean and shadowed by many big Bat briksha (banyan trees). The place is quite silent and one can find calm and peace there. We took bath in the Ghat of Daksha Prajapati temple, in the Ghat Ladies change room also there. From Ashram frequent Auto and Battery Rishka also there for the city tour. We attended morning Aarti at 7.30 am, its very heart touching can't explain through words. In the Temple Maa's Samadhi is there. The backside of the temple one can find the big Rudraksha Tree. I have seen 1st time this tree. Next day we went to Har ki pouri (Battery Rishka fare was Rs 20 pp), from there we decided to visit Rishikesh. We catch a bus from Har ki pouri Stop and Reached to Rishikesh ISBT bus stand, from there we took an auto to reach Ram Jhula. We crossed the Ganga by boat. Another side we visited Gita Bhawan and Parmarth sangha. Both are the walk-able distance from Ghat. After the visit, we crossed Ganga through Ram Jhula by walk and by auto we returned to ISBT bus stand. From there we reached at Har ki Pouri by Bus. In Har Ki pouri (Lower road) we took dinner at Mashi'r hotel (Famous for Bengali dish) and then we returned to Ashram at 11 pm. Next day early morning we bathed in Har ki Pouri Ghat and after did Lunch at Ashram. Then we went to ISBT bus stand, from there return to Ahmadabad via Delhi. The trip was very short and we decided to spend more time in the future trip. Another thing I forgot to mention, it is Ashram food. the Tiffin, Lunch and dinner facility is there and the food is soo tasty and it is just like energetic Swatik bhojan. The behaviors and dealing of Ashram office staff, canteen staff was very very nice. Swamiji gave us short spiritual knowledge which was quite informative. We are very thankful to Ashram management team for allowing us to stay and get the feeling of Ashram staying. Jai Maa.
