The Notre-Dame church was built in the early 16th century by cardinal Amanieu d’Albret, commendatory abbot of Saint-Pierre (St. Peter) Abbey of Brantome, in order that the villagers could have a parish church within the city. The single nave is covered with rib vaults. A bartizan belfry rises at the angle facing the bridge. The church was deconsecrated in the 19th century and was converted into a covered market and village hall. It now houses the PERIGORD Dronne Belle Tourist Office in Brantome. From December to February: Certified truffle market on Friday mornings (9:00-12:00 AM)
I travel a lot and so, inevitably, end up in tourist information offices. This one is brilliant, very well laid out, loads of information and very friendly well informed staff who speak very good English. Even if you think you know the area you should pay them a visit.
