Viaduc de Millau

The bridge at Millau is a wonderful achievement of modern engineering. But being on the bridge is absolutely not the best place to admire the bridge. Take a stop at the aire on  the north side (aire viaduc de Millau), this has a very good viewpoint. Staying in the area for a while? The site of the Millau tourism office has a list of the best places that offer a good view on the bridge. Do note that there can be dense fog in the valley completely shrouding the structure.

Beautiful structure, with beautiful views over the Lot River & surrounds. A perfect start for investigating the beautiful City of Cahors. You can walk around the river from the bridge to the Old Town.

Pont du Diable

We went early in the morning slightly out of season and practically had the place to ourselves. We have been on a hot early July day and seen the young lads ignoring the “no diving” notices and jumping from the bridges to the river below. It is easy to park, and the beach is slightly stony but not too uncomfortable. There is a cafe and a very informative visitors centre as well.

Pont Canal

Reviewed By Travel_Dude1 - Los Angeles, United States

The Pont Canal is a bridge over the Tarn River. it dates from the time of Napoleon and carries canal boats over the Tarn into the port of Moissac. I had the pleasure of crossing it in a boat and lots of tourists were there to see us cross the river on a bridge in a boat. It is kind of a surreal experience to glide across seeing the river below you. If you happen to be in Moissac on a nice day, it is well worth walking up the canal and seeing the bridge and adjoining locks in action.

This old bridge is a beauty to look at; what a piece of craftsmanship. Nowadays it is only accessible for pedestrians and cyclists and that helps in the narrow streets of the old city. A nice experience and from the bridge nice views.

Capestang Bridge

Having taken charge of a beautiful Linssen 32 our first challenge having passed the short introduction to boating on the the Canal Du Midi was to negotiate the Capestang bridge with our Bimini cover trying to reach out to the bridge! We made and went on to enjoy a most beautiful week heading upstream on one of the most relaxing and oldest canals in Europe.
