With hundreds of man-made lakes, state parks, casinos, museums and nightlife and dining opportunities in revitalized downtown areas in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, there is a lot to see and do in the Sooner State. The state is dotted with phenomenal lakes where swimming, boating and bass fishing are the most desired activities. Some of the state’s most popular lakes include Broken Bow Lake located near the Quachita Mountains; Grand Lake in the northeastern corner of the state at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Murray in the hills in the southern part of the state.
While the state is known for its many outdoor activities like great fishing, golf, hiking, canoeing and boating, make sure you don’t overlook its fantastic museums. Heading the list are Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, featuring the world’s largest collection of art and artifacts from the American West; the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which tells the story of the American Cowboy; and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which has a permanent collection of American and European art. A venerable family favorite activity is Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklahoma City, which has dozens of rides and shows.

I had a flight sampler of four beers (10th Street Pale Ale, Golden Spike, Blood Orange IPA, and East Coast IPA) for under $10. The staff seemed different from my last visit, but I was informed the owners are still the same from last year. Drink orders are taken at the front bar, while food orders cooked by Calico Joe’s offering dips, wraps, nachos, and the like can be ordered from the back counter. TV’s showing MLB opening day games were on the many tubes. There is a table stacked with loads of board games. The place is a very pet friendly place and offers free, secured Wi-Fi. Recommended.

Frenzy Brewing just officially opened their Edmond, OK tasting room and brewery. It is an awesome addition to downtown Edmond. The space is large in size and the beer large in flavor! In addition to a great tasting room, it will make a great event space. Bring your entire family, bring food from a nearby eatery and make an afternoon or evening of it! Cheers!!! #DrinkLocal

Roughtail Brewing Company was founded in 2013 and is known for it's American-style ales. Roughtail is the only brewery in the OKC metro with an attached taphouse serving their beers as well as other local breweries
Awesome brewery! So many great beers to choose from, very spacious taproom, huge outdoor patio, and a separate room with a projector. Great place to watch a game or hold a private party.
