This was our third and last brewery stop of the day - and it was our favorite. It was the smallest for sure but had great beer. The tiki punch is great - we even brought some home. In a brilliant marketing strategy they have local popcorn which was very tasty - and made us thirsty! :) Definitely stop by if you're in Wichita and need of craft beer!

My husband and I visited Topeka last-minute after a horrible hotel experience in Kansas City & were looking for something fun to do. As folks who enjoy beer, we decided to look for a brewery, and were happy to find Happy Basset! The atmosphere is cool & the people are kind. There were some events involving live music and trivia being advertised inside. Additionally, there appeared to be some sort of local produce being sold or picked up inside which was great. There are board games to play too which was fun. We played battleship & guess who? which were fun throwbacks to our childhood. There was also a food truck parked out front that had great Mexican food - we had an order of tacos with our beers which were delicious. Now for the beer. This brewery has a FANTASTIC variety to choose from, and seems to always be trying to brew up something new, while keeping the classics that work. Their Twisted Hop Walker IPA is a delicious sour IPA, which I've never had before. It's very light & it's surprisingly not too hoppy. It's super well-balanced. We ended up bringing home a Howler of it! I also had a pint of the Gracie Strawberry Blonde, which tastes exactly as it sounds. It was a light blonde beer with a hint of Strawberry. As someone who typically stays away from blondes, I actually really enjoyed this one. My husband had the Slow Rise Saison & enjoyed it. He also had the Purebred Porter which I also tried, and it was a delicious dark beer. They were just about finished brewing a Gatsby IPA when we were there, which looked like it's going to be delicious. Definitely worth checking this place out. They have a whole lot to offer.
