Kohoen Park

Reviewed By MeandHeTravel - New York City, United States

Well worth the drive up and back (approx 40 minutes in each direction). The drive itself is pleasant, particularly in autumn and the Park itself is quite special. Highly recommended and well worth the visit. Possible owing to its location it does not deserve the notariety it deserves. Beautifully designed and well worth every moment spent there.

Lake Ashinoko

Created 3,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption, this lake is cruised by boats year round and, from its southern edge, offers the view of Mt. Fuji often seen in tourist brochures.

If you are blessed with beautiful weather, your cruise on Lake Ashi will be amazing. We were fortunate enough to take a short cruise on a cloudless, blue-sky day, and thoroughly enjoyed the serene surroundings. Mount Fuji was not very clearly in view during our cruise, but we could see her silhouette.

Lake Chuzenji

Excellent tour and the transport arrangements organised by Toshi worked well so that we looked at much more than would otherwise have been possible, including cherry blossom which was a great thrill to see so late in May. Toshi was a very good guide from the time he met us, sorted out getting to the express train and private taxi as the bus timetable is limited at this time, and providing commentary on the way. We worked out what made a good tour for us and he then implemented it. Highly recommend Toshi.

Yatsu Tidal Flats

Reviewed By Sejayjay - Tokyo, Japan

This is a great place to run or walk around and I do so regularly all throughout the year. There is bird viewing, greenery and a full loop to take advantage of. Local residents on one end of the flat do a morning exercise routine together around 6am, a bit if a Japanese tradition Radio Taiso Exercise. If you are looking for fresh air to reflect, talk or just observe nature, here you have access to that plus water fountains, public restrooms and the occasional conveniently located restroom. Have fun! Please note that this is a local gem to enjoy and not a toursit attraction to travel to really, just a little enjoyable getaway.
