California is a fertile, peaceful place where you’ll find a near-equal balance of vineyards and deserts, beaches and mountains, hippies and traditionalists. Catch an epic wave in Big Sur or swirl a glass in Napa Valley. Be dazzled by the Joshua Tree night sky or just star-gaze in Hollywood. Swish down the slopes of a Tahoe ski resort, or cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge with the top down and the music blasting. Above all, don’t forget to soak up some Golden State sunshine.

Popular hiking trail running along the Pacific Grove and Monterey coast.
It stretches along the coast of Monterey from Fisherman's Wharf all the way through Pacific Grove Beach and Lover's Point. Incredibly scenic views to be viewed along your walk with the Pacific Ocena waves crashing in. In the Cannery Row stretch, walk through history of a famous street of canneries that harvested millions of tons of fish, many decades ago. The Pacific Grove section is completed with the walk through of Lovers Point which features a pristine sandy beach in a protected cove.

This is a 1.7mile walk or bike ride to Avila Beach. Very senic, relaxing and easy to do, wonderful! It also takes you around the golf course, over a river via bridge.

Not too challenging, and good for the entire family. Great way to bike from Squaw into town, have lunch, visit Commons beach and bike back again.

Could have ridden more and further, but mainly rode our rentals from Annenburg House down to Venice Pier and back. Stopped for lunch, stopped to watch the Skaters at the Skate park too. Well maintained, easy to see directional markings so walkers, skateboarders and scooters know all where to be and who gets right of way. Never saw an accident, although gotta watch out for little kids o occasion darting out in front of you in their hurry to get to the swing set or the beach lol. You may also need to occasionally watch out for the serious bikers on the trail, the ones who like to really cruise past you expecting you to move out of their way. Also prepare yourself for some second hand MJ smoke. Ran through a few clouds of it, and while it doesnt bother me at all, ;), it may bother some. Next tiem I plan on heading down to marina Del Rey and up to Malibu.

Starting at the Santa Monica pier, this is a popular path for biking, jogging and in-line skating along the Pacific Ocean.
My girlfriend and I have ridden this path from Santa Monica to Redondo Beach many times...it's beautiful and exciting and along with the great proximity to the ocean, you will see some of the world's most interesting people along the way.

A popular spot to rent mountain bikes and equipment for a day of biking on Mammoth Mountain.
Mammoth Mountain Bike Park has so much to offer. Whether you're a beginner rider or a seasoned expert, you will find some epic trails to ride on. Take the Gondola up to the top or half way, there so many trails to choose from. I recommend going tubeless and running the widest tire possible to float over the soft pumice and to avoid pitch flats. Also, wear elbow and knee/shin guards, just in case you go down.

Part of the American Discovery Trail, this path is exclusively for non-motorized use, and it extends throughout the city.
This city was built at the confluence of two rivers because; well, it is the confluence of two rivers. For a hundred years we then ignored that locale, except for the landed elite few who built private homes overlooking one or the other river. Then, sometime late last century, civic leaders and benefactors rediscovered the gem of our nearly 30 miles of uninterrupted river shore. The Jedediah Smith bike trail is a paved two lane route exclusively for bicycles running from the Old Port Sacramento waterfront to the shores of Folsom lake, with nary a highway crossing, stoplight or intersection with automobile traffic. It is mostly shaded by native oaks and cottonwoods, with continuous views to the American River and periodic ‘off ramps’ to neighborhoods such as Campus Commons, Carmichael, Rancho Cordova, Fair Oaks and Folsom. It’s not uncommon to see beaver, herons, duck, geese and even deer along this route. There are ample opportunities for picnics, fishing, rafting and swimming. It’s a great day out for cyclists, or families, or couples - anyone looking for the great outdoors right in their back yard.
