Our small group Portland brewery bike tour takes you to the side of the river where the innovation has always been, to ride the quieter neighborhoods. On these tree-lined streets, explore the past and present of Portland's craft brewing culture. We'll start by introducing you to the city, weaving through the neighborhoods where breweries thrive and then doing a ride over the bridges into the city's center, along the river. We'll show you where the city's first big breweries began, and the fountain that once almost flowed with beer straight from the west's oldest brewery. Portland was a leader in the craft beer industry, and boasts more breweries than any city; whatever your beer love (sours? Craft barrel-aging? Belgians? IPAs? Fresh hops, dry hops, no hops?), there's certainly a brewery that made its name in that style. The tour in total is about ten miles, and we stop for beer at the end so you can choose whether to keep riding afterward or stay for a few more with your friends.
Inclusions: Use of bicycle, Use of helmet, Bottled water
Exclusions: Tips (always appreciated), We let you decide which beer to sample and how much you'd like!
First thing is first: you must have ridden a bicycle before before booking this trip. I myself am not a biker and neither are my wife and friend so we were all a little rusty but we did just fine. Biking around really is the best way to get to know a city and our tour guide, Ana, was so awesome! She had great local knowledge and was more than happy to talk with us and share tips for things to eat, drink, see and do around Portland. This was a lot of fun and I highly recommend!

Portland’s famous food carts are scattered all over the city's five (now six) quadrants, over 600 in total, in over 60 pods — collections of food carts! Let us put you on one of our lightweight, beautiful bicycles and guide you on a 8-12 mile (11-17 km) culinary experience through some of our best-loved chefs and makers, sampling everything from Oregon farm-to-table delights to snacks appropriate to late-night cravings. We rented electric bicycles from Renee and Kurt and spent two full days exploring Portland! The electric bikes enabled us to easily climb the steep hill to Pittock Mansion for views of the city! We found ALL of the (outdoor) things we wished to see/experience in the city, along the waterfront, and in the surrounding parks. These were "treasures" suggested in our scavenger hunt booklet!! Thank you for a glorious time in beautiful Portland, Renee and Kurt!!

Our small group Eastside Craft Brewery walking tour takes you to the side of the river where the hotbed of innovation has always been, across from downtown Portland in a neighborhood packed with breweries young and old. We'll head toward the river from our inner Eastside shop into an industrial neighborhood rich with food and art, exploring the past and the present of Portland's craft brewing culture. Portland was a leader in the craft beer industry, and boasts more breweries than any city; whatever your beer love (sours? Craft barrel-aging? Belgians? Wits? Imperial IPAs? Fresh hops, dry hops, no hops?), there's certainly a brewery that made its name in that style. All of these thrive in this neighborhood, where Around Portland Tours makes its home. The tour in total is 2-3 miles of walking, with just enough beer tasting so you'll know which stop you'd like to return to. We always keep groups very small, so you'll have an intimate experience with your passionate guides!
Inclusions: A few sample beers at every stop (4-8 ounces at each brewery), At one of the brewery stops, we'll order local favorite snacks for sharing
Exclusions: Gratuities -- gladly welcomed!

Uncover Portland’s dark side on this spine-tingling walking tour. Alive with restaurants and nightlife today, 100 years ago Portland’s Historic Old Town District was home to many less savory establishments – opium dens, brothels, and underground speakeasies. While locals avoided the city’s notoriously dangerous “North End,” unsuspecting sailors were often ruthlessly abducted. This rampant kidnapping earned Portland the reputation as one of the world’s most dangerous port cities in the 1800s. Our expert tour guides regale you with stories from this lawless period, including Portland’s most infamous criminals, their victims, and the ghosts they’ve left behind. Due to COVID 19, all guests and tour guides are required to wear masks during the tour. At the conclusion of the tour, guests will be treated to one beer at the Hubers, Portland’s oldest bar + restaurant. The tour is rated ‘mildly’ spooky and is a 50:50 mixture of wicked history and hauntings.
Inclusions: 6 beer samples (5 ounces each), Local Tour Guide
Exclusions: Gratuities
Truly enjoyable and informative walking tour led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who was generous with his time. The tour was customized to the interests of the group - meaning that if folks were more interested in certain time periods or historical events than others, the guide made sure to include and emphasize these. Would definitely recommend this tour, and the surprise finish with the “flaming Spanish coffee” was a true delight!
