Menu had a lot of variety. Food was delicious, great value for money, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. They were happy to set up the outdoor gazebo for all of us at short notice. Thank you, will definitely come back soon!!

Have a chat with Steve and he will probably make you something special. We had "off menu " Suet pudding, fish pie and beef cheeks. Superb. The bar area has been refurnished and is comfortable & stylish. We had a really great time here. Fish pond has just been cleaned out. Looks great Disliked · No complaints here. We enjoyed lunch in The Green Room today. Very clean, neat and spacious seating. We went for the set three course menu which has 4 or 5 starters, mains and deserts. Sensible sized portions, excellent value for money, really tasty, all served with a smile. Will definitely return. We chose goats cheese and red pepper filo pastry tartlet, charcuterie board, pork schnitzel, duck and chorizo salad, Eton mess and chocolate and cherry roulade. Couldn't fault a thing.

Hotel was ideal and fairly priced. It was run by a family and in an ideal place for what we needed. We were visiting Shelton Prison and planned the long weekend around that area. The room itself was a twin room. The beds and actual room were clean and fresh. The bathroom needs work though: the box at the bottom of the toilet smells like sewage every time it was flushed, the shower needed some work and some deep cleaning all round. The hotel overall was nice and ideal for what we needed it for but does need some tidying up and a fresh coat of paint. Would stay here again ??

Rooms were big and clean and super breakfast buffet with freshly cooked eggs to start our day was welcome. No hesitation in recommending this little gem !!!!

A popular Yeovil Hotel Bar & Restaurant. Located on the main A30 midway between London & Cornwall. The beautiful Ham Stone building was built in the 1850's & is now owned by husband & wife, Jon & Sarah. The Hotel rooms have just undergone a £200,000 refurbishment scheme, which has definitely put the small family run hotel on the map. All 8 of the beautiful guestrooms are slightly individual with King, Twin or Superking sized beds, 32" Panasonic Smart televisions, ensuite bathrooms, & perfectly designed quaint features. To compliment the stunning rooms, the well established bar & restaurant offers a relaxed setting to enjoy a perfectly kept pint, wonderful glass of wine & traditionally cooked local food. The ever popular Sunday Carvery is a highlight. Served from 12pm until around 6/7pm, Three Somerset Meats are offered alongside our infamous Homemade Yorkshire Puddings which would put Aunt Bessie to shame!, Beautifully roasted Maris Piper potatoes, Honey parsnips, & large selection of locally supplied vegetables including cauliflower cheese plus, gluten free gravy.
From start to finish our stay was fabulous despite the reason for our visit ( we were attending my Uncle’s funeral ), we were made to feel welcomed and came away wanting to return again in the future. The service was exemplary and rarely have we encountered such attentive caring staff. Our room was clean, comfortable and just the ticket…the breakfasts were one of the best we have encountered and such great choice. We had an evening meal with family and the standard was very high, the beef curry was as good as our own homemade! We cannot recommend this independent hotel enough. We will definitely be staying again when visiting family. Many thanks for your hospitality..

Liongate House is a sympathetically rebuilt barn situated in the historic Roman town of Ilchester. Completed in 2006 using the original bricks and roof tiles, the integrity of the outer building remains whilst the inside is designed in a more modern contemporary style. Energy efficient underfloor heating together with a heat recovery ventilation system and effective rainwater recycling serving all toilets, make Liongate House an eco-friendly property to stay in. Our hearty breakfast includes local free-range eggs, some organic produce, a choice of teas or Fairtrade coffee, homemade marmalade and jams made with fruit from our garden. We are committed to providing a 4 star quality service whilst minimising the environmental impact of our activities.

I went to the Amy Winehouse tribute act with my grandson which we were both looking forward to. Was disappointed at the seating arrangements as there was not enough to accommodate the amount of people there. The supporting act I could hardly hear as so many people had their backs to them and continued talking all the time they were performing. I am amazed they stayed on stage and felt this should have been addressed by a member of staff. When the main act started I didn’t realize as there was no loud official introduction. We managed to get to see her by going down near the dance floor. The amount of drunk rude people who kept barging past us was awful. This was my grandson’s (he is 15) first night at a tribute act and though he enjoyed it he was appalled at the behavior of some people. We were hoping to return for a few more tribute nights but this has made us think twice.

The hotel and rooms are charming, and the host are personable and friendly. Unfortunately it doesn’t really cater for business travellers, as breakfast doesn’t start until 8:30. As the hotel is in a rural location, this probably means that most business travellers would incur a long journey to ‘work’ which is likely to preclude them being able to have the included breakfast.
