Having read the other reviews, I think they must all have been younger and fitter than us. At the start I must warn others that if you have mobility issues , including heart problems, then this place is not for you. Also, I cannot review the property advertised as we were moved to another similar property nearby on arrival, due to drainage issues. Yes, our replacement property was charming and decorated in antique Italian sytle, with all mod cons, sounding very like the original, but again it was situated on the top floors of a village house so there were at least 3 staircases to get to the front door, then another narrow metal staircase to reach the indoor or outdoor dining areas. We had a balcony with a view of the town below. Breakfast was served in the sun on the outdoor roof terrace (in March!, a bonus), and the staff are very helpful and friendly. As mentioned by others, the breakfast consisted mainly of sweet things, although fresh fruit was served and cold meat, cheese or eggs were offered. Getting to the property is not for the faint-hearted either, if you are on foot from the station. The old town is of course on the top of a hill and the last third of the journey is a steep footpath so if you have luggage, take a taxi, but you then still have to negotiate this path each time you go to the main area of town below. Fortunately there was a very good small restaurant nearby, to the left of the cathedral, a choice of only two without doing the steep journey, where we were made very welcome. We normally choose unusual or quirky hotels, and were not disappointed in that aspect of the place, but we feel more warning should be given about the difficult access, both inside and outside, to avoid potential heart attacks from the older generation!

We were there for two nights and enjoyed our stay. Perfect location to visit the French and Italian Riviera. Within walking distance to the beach and nice restaurants. Very close to a parking lot. The place is very clean and modern looking. All rooms are beautifully decorated. We really liked the room and the bathroom was spacious. The owners are very kind and friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast was better than most b & b. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.

A really basic B&B accommodation, rated the lowest grade, one star only. Please contain your expectations, you pay a tiny-tiny price. Our house is not a polished, lavish villa, but a humble farmer's house dating back to the 17th century. In spite of all the above we offer you a UNIQUE view to the sea, nature prevailing again on all the rest,a rare tropical luxuriant vegetation and a lunch-skipping Mediterranean full breakfast based on top grade raw products cooked fresh with traditional family recepies.
We just wished we could have stayed longer. Pier is a wonderful, hospitable, very knowledgeable host and the view from the rooms and the terrace is fabulous. Very peaceful, especially at night. Well worth driving up the private road to reach.

The best things about the hotel are the location, just yards from the beach, the friendly, obliging staff, and that fact that it was open out of season and remained welcoming even though there were few guests. The breakfast was good with some nice touches (very good cappuccino and a sandwich toaster). Our room had some minor irritations (e.g. no light switch near the bed or bedside table on one side) and felt better suited to hot summer weather than the winter (eg. tiled floors) but, on the other hand, some local hotels were closed so it was good to find somewhere. The garden would be super in summer! So overall. It would be great in summer and was the best option around in winter - and the guy on reception was great!

La Tana del Tasso is an elegant house of the 50s, completely restored. The external refined architectural details can also be found inside that house, which is furnished in the same style and characterized by practicality and comfort. Even though it is very close to the town and the sea, 2 km, it offers its guests a pleasant garden and an equipped outdoor chicken and a large terrace. Private and closed car park.
We had three rooms accom. the whole familiy. Stayed for one week and had a great time. You need a car to get around, but no probs walking to the old town and the seecret bay. No problem with parking and a nice outdoor area with a place for cooking and enjoyment.

Steps from the sparkling Mediterranean, this seaside restaurant is not a typical beachfront spot. Our lunch was well presented and nicely prepared. We all had fish and pastas of different types and all were good. Service was attentive and unrushed in the local fashion. A wonderful find.

The room is very clean. The owner extremely nice. Good location and close to train station. Would stay here again if in Ventimiglia. There was no balcony. When we opened the window it faced the old city. The wifi was strong in the room.
