I came to understand the Serbia soul during our stay at the Hotel Asimovic, at Rastoci bb, Trebinje, Bosnia & Herzegovina. This is a family run Serbian hotel. Greek-Albanian guide Ioan Mitros planned the itinerary with our group leader Kostoula of Kapogiannis Travel. Ioan knew we were Orthodox Christians interested in the Orthodox soul of Dalmatia. The Hotel Asimov gave us insight in their hospitality. I had a comfortable room, with TV, internet, television, bar and private bathroom. The hostess was excellent. The breakfasts and dinners were organic. Vegetables and wine were from the Hotel Asimovic gardens and vineyard. Everyone greeted us with smiles at all times of the day. Hospitality and special consideration to our diet needs was present. The hotel is in walking distance of Trebinje. A Mini train took us into the heart of the city. I was totally mesmerized watching a staff member ironing linens with a rotary steam press machine. My parents has an ironing machine in the 1960’s in Astoria. The staff member meticulously iron linens so they would be crisp. The following staff members are there to help everyone: Mika; Misa; Lidija; Anastasija; Jelena; Nikola; Maida; Nikolina; Tina; Vesna; and Nevenka.

I stayed there initially for the location but was overwhelmed with the service. I was in desperate shape with my credit/debit card not working and the young woman went so far as to call -on her phone- for me and help me work it through. Then she was an excellent cook, as well! The other cook -when I complimented her salad- said it was made with, “Fresh vegetables and love”. Fantastic place I cannot recommend highly enough. Don C. Washington DC

We stayed here for a week as a family of 4. We were looking for relaxation and that's exactly what we got. On arrival we were shown to our rooms which were clean with good quality bedding and towels and a nice balcony overlooking the meadow and beehives next door and the mountains behind. The beach and beachbar is a relaxed affair. You can get mats for the sunbeds and they will bring you cold drinks and ice-cream to your beds. The water is cold but amazing once you get in. There's no current and a good range of depths. There is a walled area as you enter so the children are safe, there are steps to the deep areas. You can see lots of wildlife and while we stayed, there was a family of ducks and a lone stork everyday. There are also a few cats that the children liked to play with. There is space to play a game of catch or frisbee and there are swings for the children. There's loads of space for running around and I felt very safe to let the children just play without having to watch them all the time. The restaurant serves delicious local meals with a good mix of meats and vegetarian food. The pancakes are delicious and the staff are so relaxed and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Whatever you need they will do their best to help you. Outside of the hotel there is not much else to do with children (the hotel can arrange hiking and canoeing) you can't really take a walk anywhere or go to a shop. We took a taxi to town a few times and we hired a car and drove to Montenegro. The price of the hotel and restaurant is really reasonable. I would definitely go back for a relaxing holiday.

Modern and brand new hotel in the heart of Trebinje.
I am very surprised by the customer care and approach. I left my things at the hotel, coat, underwear, blouse and asked for them to be sent to Poland. I must admit that I lost hope that this operation would be successful at all. after two months, the package arrived. I recommend with all my heart although I doubted this place. You can feel safe, well and, above all, you can trust the people there. I am really pleasantly surprised♥.

The drive from Dubrovnik airport took an hour, as the border was relatively quiet. I was welcomed by a friendly receptionist, who checked me in quickly. The room was ready at 11:30 am, which was much appreciated. The smallish room featured an old school decor. Everything was clean and tidy and in good condition. There were two single beds pushed together, a small desk, a fridge/minibar and a safe (which was loose in the closet and could be carrid away, should someone so wish). There was no room for a sitting area. There were sockets by the bed for charging your devices. There is free wifi, but it is a bit sporadic, falling off the grid every now and then and, at times, slow. The curtains were of a light colour, which might look nice, but they do little to keep the room dark in the early morning. The bathroom came with a walk-in shower with good water pressure. There was both an overhead as well as a handheld shower. The only amenities consisted of wall-mounted hand soap and shampoo. The airconditioning only works when the keycard is placed in the slot by the door. And there’s no way to trick the slot by placing just any card in there. As the airconditioning was struggling in the summer heat, I had to ask for an extra key to keep the a/c running all day, and even so, it only managed to take the temperature down to about 24. Fortunately, after sunset, the room cooled down further to a more comfortable 22 before bedtime. Breakfast was served in the breakfast room from 7 to 10. It was the usual affair, a self-serve buffet with several hot items such as fried eggs and omelettes, bread, cold cuts and cheeses, cereals, youghurt and some fresh fruit. It gave you a good start of the day. The hotel restaurant offers affordable foodall day both in the downstairs restaurant as well as on the terrace outside. The cherry cake was excellent! The hotel is located right on the main square, Trg Slobode, a short walk from the Old Town and all the sights. The hotel was well worth the price, 50 EUR a night including breakfast. I will be sure to stay at the Central Park Hotel again if my travels take me to Trebinje in the future!

Mirno i tiho mesto izvan grada u prirodi. :-)

Went there to spend a family lunch, we are a family of 4 ( two small children's age 18 months and 4 years). After spending about 20 minutes before anybody approached us with the menu, we waited for nearly 45 minutes to get some of the things we ordered, for example we never got the salad :) The best point of the day was the situation where we kindly requested form the waiter to get in advance the soup for our children, but we were told that this is not a possibility. What a disgrace... i wanted to get up a leave the place instantly.. So to say it in short: If you have the time, the nerves and some money, u just might get some of the things to eat that u have ordered, at the pace of an turtle....

I stayed there as part of an organised package tour. I had previously emailed the hotel to ask whether, though travelling alone, I could have a large bed. Of all the hotels I had contacted on this tour, I actually received a reply to say that they would make sure I got a double bed. A good impression initially.. When I got there, though they had my name, the name of the tour group and date of arrival, I was given a tiny bed in a tiny room. I showed the girl on reception her own email to me, but she didn't care. However, for the guide, a girl about half my weight and about 4 inched shorter, she gave a double room with a balcony. The guide did not say but I rather suspect that her company either got her room free (as she would be taking about 14 guests on eight occasions a year to that hotel - so the hotel wanted to keep in with her, rather than a lone traveller who was there for one night) or they had only booked her a single room. The breakfast and the location were adequate but the main aspect, the room, was unsatisfactory, as was the attitude. The problem was resolved by the guide and I exchanging rooms. Beware: If you are over 5ft 5ins (1.65m) or 65 kilos DO NOT book a single room - don't even rely on promises in an email of a double bed!

The vila is wonderful: it is stylish, cosy, beautiful and clean. Wifi is very good The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They asked us about our preferences for breakfast and made us a delicious breakfast on the terrace of our room (I will never forget these buckwheat crepes!)
