Two couples enjoyed staying in this nice Orix Hotel and Resort, which would be excellent for couples with children to enjoy and even better during the summer months since there is an outside swimming area. We stayed during the Golden Week, and there was social distancing and sanitation measures being practiced. We had a room with beds which was located a little bit of a walking distance from the main dining room, but it was a lovely room with its own private bath, too.

Visited 1 week before golden week and it was quiet and peaceful. Price was included of 1 dinner and 1 breakfast and quality of food served was good. Room was basic with tatami, futons and a small towel for use at the onsen. Head up to 3rd floor on Murodo Plateau and look out for the small wooden signs. It is a 30-45 mins walk through snow, not recommended for families with young children or elder members. Highly recommended if you want to avoid crowds of tour groups at Murodo Station.

You absolutely can't charge your phone near the bed. Room at the back is not recommended, noise of machines, not the best view. I would rate the buffet as okay, not more than average. This used to be a luxurious hotel, 30 years ago, but they didn't invest a lot since then. Still looks nice though, with big rooms for Japanese standard. The public onsen is very good with a large bath inside and a nice one outside. Big play ground for children

Check-in was smooth, the rooms were very impressive, large (2 toilets and seating areas) and all rooms have ocean views. The food was amazing - both dinner and breakfast. (breakfast was buffet style, but lots of choice). We took touring friends from Australia for an onsen experience and we finished up all being very impressed with this Ryokan. It was an older building, but very well maintained. I couldn't fault anything about the room, facilities or service. We were allowed to stay in the bath for a few minutes overtime without complaint and everyone was so pleasant. The free karaoke time was also a bonus.

We spent two nights here and could not fault the service from the moment we arrived when our car was whisked away and valet parked to all of the delightful lotions, potions and traditional Japanese clothing provided in our room. We had a large room with beautiful tatami mats throughout - the smell is magical - and everything was scrupulously clean. The entire ‘superior’ room included an entrance hall with fridge and tea-making facilities and some storage, a large main traditional room where our meals were served, a sitting room with western chairs and huge windows out onto the river, a western style bedroom with two double beds, and by Japanese standards a very large bathroom area with two wash basins and even two toilets. The food was amazing/incredible and we were provided with lots of diversity over the four meals we had - one of us even sneaked an omelette and toast into breakfast on our last day just by a quick question to our server. We were helped with our luggage, provided with advice on how to deal with the Kurobe Gorge Train and all in all had a wonderful experience. The one downside is that this is not a very pretty place to stay, all the ryokans here are concrete monoliths which is not unusual in Japanese onsen towns. The town itself is quaint but the draw is definitely the gorge and the hot waters which are very well worth the visit.

Two couples stayed here during Golden Week. Our room had a private outdoor bath from which we could open slated wooden blinds to see the rice paddies and snow-covered mountains in the distance. The dinner meal and breakfast were both excellent Japanese-style meals. The large onsen baths were well-equipped with amenities.

Entaijiso exceed my expectations. Right from the check in till check out, the staff gave us amazing hospitality. They made a vegetarian dinner for us (on prior request )which was amazing with about 50 items to eat. The breakfast buffett had a doable selection of vegetarian too. The onsens were superv. The views from the room were as per the description. The lady who checked us in was such a wonderful female. She was the only one who spoke english. She explained us all the things to use, helped us wearing yukatas, went with me all the way to show the onsen as I was confused with the floors. She was very patient with us. Other female ( although not fluent in english) was very helpful for us to transfer our bags to shinano omachi as we proceeded for alpine route. . Indeed it exceeded my expectation in all the ways. All my requirements were fulfiled. 1. Room with great views of the gorge in 5th floor 2. Traditional japanese style rooms with futon beds, yukatas, a coffee table to enjoy the view. Huge rooms. 3. Bathroom had separate toilet, separate basin and separate tub. Shower was in the tub. We had a bath at the onsen which had a huge selection of shampoos and all other amenities. U get everything u need. 4. The onsens were great. On one floor it had indoor onsen both male n female separated opposite to each other. The outdoor one has 2 floors which keeps on rotating b/w male n female. The top one is for females in the morning and men at night. The bottom floor is for females at night and men in the morning. 5. They have a car pick up n drop service till shin kurobe unazuki station which is about half an hour from unazuki station which is for local trains. You need to inform them prior. 6. The vegetarian kaiseki was also superv. Beyond my imagination. They had aubergine, rice, bamboo shoot, cold soba, desserts, rice balls, artichokes, carrot, pickles, mushroom, tofu, raddish, soy sauce, sweets, dessert. They were served in small bowls. U can add them to your hot pot or mix it with rice. Or eat it like one by one dish. We took one hour to complete the kaiseki meal so u can imagine the varieties served. We had a wonderful stay at Entaijiso.

This is a wonderful ryokan. You are met with quiet courtesy and shown to your room where a cup of tea is prepared for you by the host. The room is large with various sizes of yukatas and happi coats available. The furniture and style of the room is Japanese modern in an array of beige - all meant to relax you after a busy day touring. A wood tub is available for those who don't wish to use the onsen. Of the various ryokans we visited this was possibly the most quietly elegant (mind you, befitting the price!). We enjoyed dinner here and it was, as always in a ryokan, an artistic splendour: food beautifully prepared and presented. As dish arrived after dish arrived it was difficult to put the camera down and enjoy the various flavours of each. Not least, we thoroughly enjoyed the onsen using it twice a day, early in the morning and late at night after our touring. Again it was clean, modern, with several baths inside and out depending on your water temperature tolerance. All in all a wonderful and complete traditional Japanese experience not to be missed.
