Looking out over the city of St. John's, you may be reminded of a mini San Francisco (minus the cable cars). St. John's provides the ideal balance between nature and nightlife, from the East Coast Trail and its stunning scenery to the colorful entertainment district along George Street. Although it's the largest city in Newfoundland, the vibe is still very small-town. You'll feel welcome in the City of Legends!

We offer quiet rooms in a refurbished mansion with modern amenities and off street parking for small to mid size cars only. We are pretty much dead center downtown and a 10 to 15 minute walk would take you anywhere from the Sheraton in the east end to the Delta Convention Center / Mile One in the west end with most of the cathedrals, museums, art galleries and restaurants in between. On Military Road, 557 feet to the south of Cabot House, you have: The Rooms Complex (museum, archives, Art Gallery, restaurant) The Colonial Building Commissariat House Government House St. Thomas's Church (the oldest Protestant Church in North America) The Basilica of St. John the Baptist Presentation Convent (housing the veiled Madonna) Breakfast services have ended. The Hungry Heart Cafe is a one minute walk from our front door and has a professional staff on site able to cater to any dietary requirement at modest cost Express check in and check out. Free TV; WiFi; and telephone.
This is a beautiful little boutique hotel. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and the room was huge.the decor is so charming and the bed was very comfortable. This is a fab place to stay. I have not one negative thing to say. We stayed here twice and loved it.

Leaside Manor is St. John's most popular small inn/B&B, offering romantic, double tub suites with fireplaces; fully-furnished executive apartments; unique meeting facilities with catered meals - all within a 5 minute drive of the downtown. An owner-hosted facility, Leaside offers a full cooked breakfast served in your suite; free wireless, parking; trip planning assistance. Leaside provides all the amenities of a hotel while giving you the personalized attention that only a small inn can offer.
We stayed at Leaside for a week while our house was being renovated. We chose Leaside because of its local reputation. We were in a restored heritage property which combined the charm of history with modern amenities. The suite was spacious, clean, and well decorated and could easily accommodate 2 couples. Close to the Harbour but also next to the Waterford River walking/biking trail in downtown St. John's, we found parts of the City we didn't realize existed. The staff were great and really friendly

Within walking distance to everything St. John’s, and a 10 minute drive to the airport, offering traditional Newfoundland hospitality with modern amenities in an Edwardian home that was once a convent, we have 6 rooms - 2 with ensuite, and 4 with private baths. Breakfasts are made to order, featuring homemade bread, warm croissants, and a Newfoundland & Labrador staple, toutons!
We have stayed at numerous B & B's in Canada, Europe and the United States and we can say that the Georgestown Inn ranks up with the best of them. The basics - easy booking with a long email about the area and things to do, checkin was smooth and our bags just appeared in our top floor room before we knew it, clear house instructions and a room with coffee, tea and dainty snacks, a very clean and organized house, good parking at and around the B & B, all around good value. The breakfast - made to order based on a checklist we provided the night before. Very extensive choices with sensitivity to food needs. Fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, bacon, home-made sausage, ham, eggs, juice, coffee, tea - all your choice. The breakfast room is large and the seating is at small tables based on your room name. The setup makes it easy to visit or keep to yourself if that is your preference. The rooms - clean and a good size with a huge ensuite bathroom. The shower is excellent! The bed is comfortable and the quilts are very nice. The Beth Suite faced the street but we did not notice any excessive street noise. The best of all - Cindy and John. They were there to help us from the time we arrived and until we left. They were very informed about the area and their suggestions for travel and restaurants were helpful. It takes excellent hosts to really make a B & B special and Cindy and John are those hosts. We have no hesitation to recommend the Geogrestown B & B.

Bookings via our online site will be 15% less than any found elsewhere. Please email for particulars. Email enquiries preferred. Center of Downtown ten minute walk to George Street, Signal Hill, Hotels Delta, Sheraton, Marriott, Mile One Stadium. Nestled safely on elegant Queen's Road below Rooms Complex (Museum, Archives, Art Gallery) and RC Basilica, in well lit area, among historic cathedrals, theaters, and fine restaurants. Rooms have WiFi, 60 channel CCTV, and a/c during summer. There are excellent breakfast restaurants within a two minute walk. Our rooms are spacious and well appointented. We dispensed with hot breakfasts because we could not deliver on expectations and time frames. Our rooms are air conditioned (July / August). We have live in caretakers. Registered guests are provided with direct contact numbers on arrival. There is always clearly marked public parking with a short distance of our entry.
At first our stay in the Inn was great, with a charming room and nice amenities. A second booking, to the smaller, inferior, higher priced room downstairs, canceled all this out. Gang of people upstairs partying most of the early morning, and unexplained, unsettling roughhousing occurred on the first night there. Complaints to the manager were met with 'please don't call the cops on them! WE will do it if you call us' ( they didn't ). Owners won't address complaints once they get their money. Best to avoid, and if any valuables are misplaced on the premises, expect no help from owners in finding them.

The Inn by Mallard Cottage is nestled in the cliffs of Quidi Vidi Village, next door to the renowned Mallard Cottage restaurant and 15 minutes from St. John’s Airport. Each room is influenced in design and aesthetic by the vernacular of rural Newfoundland and creatively appointed with locally made furnishings. Personal service and attention to detail are cornerstone to the experience at the Inn.
The Inn at Mallard Cottage is my favourite place to stay when in St. John’s. It’s small (only 4 rooms per building) which makes the stay feel more like being in a guesthouse than a hotel. The location couldn’t be better with views of quaint Quidi Vidi, walking distance to the brewery and Mallard Cottage restaurant and a healthy walk or short drive to downtown. But the main reason I’m writing this review is because the staff went above and beyond to take care of us and keep us comfortable during a flight delay that meant having to stay in town longer than planned. Thank you Anya! Looking forward to our next visit.

Monroe House was previously a 5 star boutique hotel. To add the Newfoundland experience and friendly spirit we changed to a guest house. All the same features and luxuries with a more home-like feel. Gower Manor Victorian Guest House is a Second Empire style residence with the distinctive dormer windows, mansard roof and ornate trim that characterized St. John’s in the 1890s. Fully restored inside and out by a master craftsman the home features 4 floors of exquisite antiques, working phonographs and memorabilia from a century ago.
We have recently spent 8 days in this unique place. It is absolutely immaculate, meticulously maintained by its owner Bill. He is a dream host, very friendly and always ready to help or advice. And he plays a wonderful period music. Gower Manor is in very convenient location, about 5 minus from the center of downtown Water Street. We will definitively book this place again on our next visit to St. John's.

Very quiet. Well appointed. Use of kitchen facilities. My room had free wifi; cable tv; full washroom; super bed; large armoire for clothes. Very fresh. Very clean. It was on the second floor. Free parking directly in front of the entry. No caretaker on site but I was told he was only 50 feet away if needed. This pricing was beyond reasonable. A hostel in a thrid world country would have cost more. In terms of value for money?
