Wonderful public house in the centre of the Village. We have dining facilities 5 days a week and 6 letting rooms. The rooms are situated away from the main pub in a converted Barn. Each room has its own en-suite, TV and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Lunch & Dinner is served Wednesday to Sunday.
Really lovely food, great welcome from all the staff. Immaculate pub, very cosy bar. Had a great fillet steak. Liver and onions was beautiful. Would definitely recommend a visit and will definitely come again. …………………………………………………………..

The George Inn is a 15th Century Coaching Inn with twenty five newly refurbished B&B rooms situated next to the stunning 11th Century Selby Abbey in the heart of the lively market Town of Selby, North Yorkshire. All our rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities. The Inn offers a Restaurant and bar serving hearty breakfasts, classic pub food and craft ales, served up with great service and a quality atmosphere. The large bar opens out to an attractive beer garden/courtyard and at weekends you can party at our late night venue next door with entry included.
We stayed for one night enroute back from Liverpool, it was OK ish but not what we were looking for as we are both getting on over 70 so found the stairs up to our bedroom a little difficult, however we could not fault the value for money of our evening meal & breakfast. We had booked for November but had to cancel due to our mobility issues. But if ground floor or lift we would go back. Thanks. K & M

Having once ran a very successful bed and breakfast my choice of staying at the Owl was well rewarded from the moment I walked into the property. Warm friendly wellcome, the public areas were very clean with an aroma of freshness. The room itself was large bright and airey, the massive bed was so very comfy with brilliant white bedding . Bathroom area is bright and clean as was everything I haven't mentioned. Keep it up and thank you .

Maypole Farm offers basic accommodation on a room only basis. All rooms have en-suites with digital tv's, free wi-fi, tea/coffee making facilities.
Stayed 2 nights with friends. Lovely warm, clean, fresh smelling accommodation, good hot shower and nice towels. Plenty of choice for the continental breakfast to help yourself to included in the price. Would definitely recommend to friends and stay again if visiting York. Ate twice at the pub opposite which was a super bonus!

The Hazeldene Guest House is a spacious period house in the heart of the historic market town of Selby. We have a private car park, free Wi-Fi, secure accommodation for cycles and licensed bar in our large residents lounge. Our locally sourced breakfasts are served every morning in our welcoming dining room. Our central location provides easy access to all town centre amenities including the beautiful Abbey and markets as well as a convenient base to explore the City of York and its many attractions.
A great B&B supplying most of the essentials and many extras. Has parking. Numerous sockets including bedside all with USB. Spacious room with stocked fridge, micro and sink. Hotel seems newly refurbished. Nice bed, TV could be larger due to size of room. Newly fitted shower room. Pressure not great but is to be expected from older buildings and is hot and fine. Would have been 5/5 but for one issue. No shampoo or shower gel supplied. This is a basic requirement for rooms to be fair. Seems odd as there are many features above those expected

A modern friendly hotel, located on the A63 Selby Bypass, only 3/4 of a mile from the town centre. Our hotel also has a bar and family restaurant with a children's play area. At The Wishing Well, you will be welcomed by our team of staff who will look after you throughout your stay. We cater for everyone staying at our hotel from the discerning business traveller to a family of 4. Ample free car parking is available to all hotel guests.
We stayed here on 2nd & 3rd June. The room was nice and clean but in need of maintenance and repair. The sink was smashed leaving an unhygienic crack to collect germs. (Room 12) The restaurant was grossly understaffed (apart from the duty manager who had plenty of time to stand talking to her friends). The room was full of uncleared tables and the bar itself littered with dirty glasses. Breakfast was nice on Friday morning but the next day we had almost raw bacon doled up on our plates. We had hoped for a higher standard.

Hotel is not staffed - collect keys from nearby pub. Single room was clean and very small. Tv on wall and a kettle with some tea and coffee. Bathroom also very small but clean with a basin only big enough to wash your hands. Biggest issue is the steep narrow steps with one section no handrail. So it is clean and tidy and adequate for a short stay.

Had to come to to York for Business, 3 days before arrival, I had a positive PCR in my group meaning we couldn't come. I tried to contact the hotel several times so we could deal with the cancelled booking. The smallprint says Cancellation due to Covid will be refunded but we are now in November and still no answer. Please watch these scammers!

Beautiful seven bedroomed guesthouse all rooms ensuite with views over english country garden. English or continental breakfast included in price. The ground floor has fully licensed Italian restaurant.
Had a poor stay. There was no one to meet me. I had to venture into the restaurant to find someone. The room was basic but clean. I had a dreadful nights sleep due to the ongoing noise from the restaurant below. The shower was awful. Just a trickle. When I went for breakfast there was no one available. I had again to seek someone out. There was no breakfast ready so I asked for toast and tea. I was told there was no bread so I asked for tea only. I was given lemon tea and very lukewarm water. The man serving me was in his slippers!! Needless to say I went to work very annoyed, fed up and hungry. All in all a very poor and uncomfortable stay. I was embarrassed to be there.
