Holland's most modern city began as a fishing village in the 13th century. It was developing into an industrial and trading power when German bombers destroyed the city center and harbor in 1940. However, Rotterdam's unique architecture now brings many visitors to bike around this urbane, cosmopolitan city. Old Dutch-style houses can still be found in historic Delfshaven, from where the pilgrims set sail in 1620. Cultural offerings from summer's carnival to classical music give Amsterdam competition.

Hotel Light is a small boutique hotel near the famous museum area of Rotterdam. It is a small walking distance to the city centre. Several public transport options within 100 metres.
This hotel deserves to be shut-down as it operates with no proper electricity in their bedrooms. As per my pictures, this nasty hotel is not functioning; they use a lamp for lighting the bathroom and bedroom plus their air-condition does not work due to the fact that this establishment has no working ceiling lights as they seem to be doing works to it. This you only find out at check-in! If you sleep in this hotel you WILL wake up with bed-bug bites and your body will be so itchy for days on end - disgusting. This hotel solely relies on the assistance of ONE receptionist; no supervisors; no Front of House Managers thus the Receptionists are all useless and powerless. They run a pretty website, but in reality they are a fake company that lack higiene and customer care. Choose a hotel closer to Central Station where you will enjoy the city better.

Great and calm place next to the waterside. The room had a very cool view to Rijnhaven and Hotel New York. Breakfast was delicious and custom made by Monique and Eugene. The room was cozy and drinks were included in the price which was great because then coffee was directly available in the room early in the morning.

Hotel Santa Maria is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Rotterdam, offering a family-friendly environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. Rooms at Hotel Santa Maria provide a flat screen TV and a desk, and getting online is easy, with free wifi available. In addition, Hotel Santa Maria offers a lounge, which will help make your Rotterdam trip additionally gratifying. And, as an added convenience, there is paid public parking available nearby. Nearby landmarks such as Huis Sonneveld (0.4 mi) and Erasmus Bridge (0.4 mi) make Hotel Santa Maria a great place to stay when visiting Rotterdam. While visiting Rotterdam, you may want to try some tempura at one of the nearby restaurants, such as Ono Japanese Dining. Best of all, Hotel Santa Maria makes it easy to experience many great Rotterdam attractions like Destroyed City, Santa Claus (Beeld), and Erasmus Sculpture, which are some popular monuments and statues. Enjoy your stay in Rotterdam!
First: The hotel is great for the price you pay. It's a one star but could have three. Owner is super nice. Rooms clean (ok the bed bug traps underneath the beds were a bit discomforting). You get a great breakfast buffet for 5 euros (if you have kids, they eat for free!), great location, 5mins walk to area with tons of bars and restaurants, supermarket and tramstop across the street, 10mins to central station by tram. Now unfortunately during our stay there was a heatwave over Europe with temperatures up to 37 degrees. Nothing the staff could do but supply us with fans that did nothing but turn over warm air. There is no aircon in the rooms, and windows cant be opened. Our room was about 35 degrees hot. Even at night when temps were down to 23 we couldnt let any air in so sleeping normal was nearly impossible and the heat was unbearable. Otherwise the Hotel was great, so just check the weather or temperatures first if you plan to stay there in the summer months.

I booked directly with them and regret it. The night we stayed our room got flooded with water coming from the ceiling. One of the guests slipped and almost lost their sight. They were left with pain and bruising around the eye. The reception called the owner and he came in 20 minutes. He didn't ask us how we were and his only concern was about stopping the leak I asked what he will do for us and he said he would call a doctor to attend the guest and won't be charging us for our room. No doctors came. Next day he said it was not the hotels fault that a leak happened and the guest needs to go to the hospital themselves and it's not hotels responsibility. He also said there was a misunderstanding and he meant we would not be charged for moving us to another room that was flooded. I thought by booking directly I would get a saving but I ended up not being protected and they don't really give you any saving. In fact it was quite expensive when you add parking and breakfast. They state everything is halal but what snacks you get at reception which you pay for are Snickers chocolates and nothing special. The breakfast was one of the worst I've had. It's a rip off. You get a few cereal, cheese, bread, tea and scrambled eggs. Not worth 11 euros they charge. We were the only people at breakfast. Overall the location is quite good and some of the staff are really wonderful but the package and guest welfare is atrocious. The owner is dishonest.

Hotel âme is designed with passion for the conscious and modern traveler. Housed in a monumental building from 1867 with a beautiful architectural soul. With respect for the history of the building, it was rebuilt into a contemporary hotel with a total of 14 rooms, café and concept store. The original layout was kept and where possible, all the authentic details have been restored - inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics - with natural materials and colors, bespoke furniture and attention to detail - combined with luxurious amenities, to make sure guests can enjoy a welcoming and comfortable stay. Carefully selected Coco-mat beds welcome all guests with a sleeping-on-nature experience.
Semi hidden small hotel. Just a few rooms walking distance from almost everything. Super cosy rooms. Really well decorated - super comfy. A wonderful stay. The staff is really efficient and nice. Just keep in mind the rooms on the street are noisy at night despite the ear plugs provided - simply night life in Rotterdam when you are close to bars and the metro station!

Amazing Hotel, will definitely be staying again the next time I'm in Rotterdam. Free WIFI, smart TV with Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime and everything you could need. Beautifully designed rooms, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and perfect location. No faults at all!

We believe a check-in should be fast. So we made it faster. We’ve skipped the lobby guy, we forgot about the bellboy and dismissed the dressed-up staff. By making smart use of technology, we make things easy and time-saving for the metropolitan traveller. We are Unplugged.

They ripped us off. They overcharged my credit card by 37€ and never gave us a refund. We had booked through Hostelworld who told us that we’d pay 82 upon arrival but the hostel just decided to deduct more than that. The reception never picks up. Apparently the place was bought up by Chinese and it is being remodelled. If you would like to stay here I’d recommend to wait at least until August 2022 because when we went there was no reception, no staff to help, nothing. Service is terrible therefore. Cleanliness is mediocre and the place smells terrible. Very dingy. Don’t stay here, stay in a proper hostel instead. Only good thing is location.
