Luz de Azahar, the light of the orange blossom, is a guest house where you get all the amenities of a hotel while feeling perfectly at home. The Bred and Breakfast is located between the sea and the mountain.
This B&B is in a quiet residential area about half hour walk from town/the beach. The nearest supermarket is about 20 minutes walk by a busy road, but there is a pavement most of the way. In the other direction you can walk to a nature area in about 10 minutes. There is free underground parking and all rooms have balconies. The owners are a friendly, older couple. The room is spacious and there is a mini refrigerator. The bathroom has a bath and a massage shower, only the water pressure was to limited for this shower to work properly. There is a swimming pool, which looks fine, but we didn't use it. The place is kept very clean by the friendly, cheerful cleaner. Considering there are no café's or restaurants nearby, its a shame there is no kettle in the room to make yourself a cup of tea, coffee or even pot noodles. The concrete balcony is in need of some fresh paint. Our main problem here was mosquitoes. We couldn't use the balcony after 17.00 because of this. its probably just seasonal and because its rather rural, but we didn't have this problem as bad as this in other places around the same time.

This is a small, family run hotel. The location is perfect if you want to be between the beach and the old city. Our room was spacious enough and the bed was very comfortable. The biggest fault that we had was with the pillows, which we did not find comfortable at all (but not enough to knock off a star). Nice door to open up the room to get some fresh sea air. The bathroom was lovely and well stocked. There was one comfortable chair in the room along with a padded stool and desk. Plenty of storage. Clean with sea inspired decor. I believe they have very strict hours for the check-in, so if one arrives late, that may be a problem. Wifi worked well. We would recommend the breakfast offered in the hotel. We did not try the restaurant in the hotel during the normal hours. Outside of the restaurant hours, there isn't any food or drink available.

Stayed for one night on drive to south, wish we'd had longer. The apartment had lovely views, lots of restaurants and bars on doorstep. Peniscola beaches a short walk, gorgeous beaches and the sea was so calm and very shallow for a good way out, great for children. Only down side was parking car and having to carry bags up through the old towns cobbled streets to hotel. Would definitely like to go back.

We stayed two nights and found the Aranda a superb place. Unbelievably clean and everything needed for a short stay - including a fridge. As it’s located in the old walled town it’s not surprising that you can’t take your car to the door but parking is available within a 10 minute walk and we were given a key to secure parking at the other side of town (15 to 20 mins walk) - slightly inconvenient but the hostel and the location more than compensates. I’d really recommend this place.

Does not live up to the photo's shown on the internet, does not feel homely, a self catering apartment with few Cooking facilities i.e. NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and few tools, only a microwave and a hob, and a tea set with tiny cups, No Mugs, mentioned to reception NOT INTERESED. 4 frying type pans No Sauce Pans, Had to purchase a jug to heat water in Microwave for cups of tea and mugs for the tea. Handed packs of sheets and pillow cases to make our own beds, given a clean set of bedding plus towels after 4 days. Beds not bad but a little cheap and nasty, cleanliness quite good, but a little dated, no one came in to clean or tidy all stay. Wifi available in apartment but kept braking down. No good for the disabled stairs to get to all apartments, 9 flights of stairs to go down to the Reception, stairs to apartments and reception not lit so dangerous at night. Reception only open for a couple periods during the day, 9:30 to !3:30 and !600 to 1800 Approx, we arrived after our flight and car drive , just after 1400 and had to wait until 1600 to book in, Not really acceptable, not informed of this prior to arrival.
