With a little bit of this and a little bit of that all mixed together with flair and panache, beautifully vibrant New Orleans has made the most of marks left by whomever was calling the shots during whatever era over the past few centuries. Hardly a hodgepodge, the result of such a distinctive blend of cultures is an enchanting cityscape, a set of unique traditions that continuously delight the world, and a jaunty way of living that must be experienced to be appreciated.

With 19th Century roots this fourteen room mansion was originally the private home of the Galiese Family. Now, over a hundred years later we're dedicated to providing the best boutique hotel experience in New Orleans. We're located in the residential area of Bourbon Street & the French Quarter. Guests enjoy both the sights and sounds of Bourbon Street as well as a retreat into their own personal French Quarter home. With 14 expertly appointed guest rooms, balconies overlooking Bourbon Street, and a gorgeous and serene courtyard, Lafitte Guest House is the perfect place for friends to gather, travelers to rest, adventurers to explore any time of year and any day of the week. Rooms are spacious and uniquely decorated with antiques and reproduction art from around the world. Staying with us is like staying in a private French Quarter residence. Look no further for the greatest escape.
My friend and I booked a girls weekend here just as Delta was ramping up. When we had to postpone because of Covid issues, they were so accommodating, offering us a refund or credit. We opted for the credit so we knew we'd make the trip. And from start to finish, the staff was so very friendly and helpful. Whether it was advice on things to do/see/eat or just hanging out with other guests at the downstairs bar (you will get talked into trying a voodoo daiquiri), we just enjoyed the atmosphere and camaraderie of the place. We had a 16 year old with us and even she loved it. The building is old and historical. The bannisters are lovely. There is local art on the walls heading all the way up. We stayed in Room 40, the loft. You can take the elevator to the 3rd floor but then need to walk up a flight so be prepared. It's a huge room with two large queen comfy beds, a sitting area, a small but functional bathroom, and a large well lit vanity for getting ready. The three of us could use the space. You have plenty of room to stretch out and not feel on top of each other. Also the views from this room are gorgeous with multiple vistas. As mentioned in previous reviews, you do need to turn on the water a few minutes before you want to shower so the hot water works it way up. I would also say the shower pressure could be better, but the rain water shower head is lovely. There is also plenty of drawer space in antique dressers/nightstands/vanity table if you like to unpack. Lastly, I always bring ear plugs when I travel but was really surprised at how quiet it was given there is a bustling (also historic) bar across the street. We stayed during the week so that might make a difference. They also have a driver available for airport runs. Be sure to ask before you go! Note that this hotel is said to be haunted. If you're sensitive, keep that in mind. To sum up, an excellent location in the heart of the French Quarter that's just far enough away from the hubbub to make things accessible without all the noise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The host, Brent, was wonderful. The breakfast was high quality and the house itself was lovely. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure. The location is also ideal for tourists as you are close enough to town to enjoy the sights by either taking a trolley or a 7-10 minute drive in your car.

My husband and I visited NOLA for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ashton’s. We booked The Cajun Kitchen (Room 5). It’s small and cozy and was perfect for us since it’s more private. The bed and linens were very comfortable, and the whirlpool bath was relaxing. Breakfast was delicious! I requested an alternative meal for dietary restrictions and the Ashtons were happy to oblige. There was always coffee, tea, water, sodas, fruit and snacks available. Karma gave excellent recommendations for places to eat and public transportation. We ended up taking the bus a lot since there is a stop close to the B&B. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful and historic, and we enjoyed just walking around the area. The yard cat is a bonus for animal lovers. Patrick and Karma have literally thought of everything, so just pack your clothes and toothbrush! Thanks for a wonderful first visit, Ashtons! We will definitely be back! Mike & Paige Z.

Get transported back to historic New Orleans in this award-winning 150-year-old grand Greek revival mansion with stately columns and regal galleries. This grand 1850's Greek Revival house is the essence of the elegance of old Creole Louisiana, located in a very friendly neighborhood 6 blocks from the French Quarter and 4 blocks to Frenchmen St. Fine restaurants, famous jazz clubs, and sidewalk cafes are within a short walk. Renovated to provide luxury accommodations for memories that will last a lifetime.
Location is very good, close to Frenchmen Street and French Quarter. It was also quiet and I felt safe. However, there was absolutely no food at all for breakfast, even though it clearly says "free breakfast". Giving Covid as an excuse is no longer valid. The coffee pot was dirty and the mattress cover was also dirty. I should have mentioned it when I arrived and saw that, but it was late and I forgot about it.

Laid-back luxury in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Four meticulously and individually themed suites include large bathrooms & living rooms, queen beds & sleeper sofas. The backyard paradise with a cocktail pool & hot tub, cabana with wet bar & bathroom is perfect for small parties, casual meetings or romance. Employees disappear unless called upon so with only 4 suites, guests often feel they have the "place to themselves".
Walked into an oasis of gardens and salt water pool with cabana. My room, Bollywood, was beautiful and roomy, with an ultra comfortable bed. Neighborhood is eclectic and full of small restaurants and bars all in walking distance…with charming New Orleans architecture. Owner was most accommodating . Highly recommend!

New Orleans Guesthouse is located across the street from the World Famous French Quarter and just 3 blocks from Bourbon Street The 14 individually appointed rooms have cable TV and free WiFi. Some rooms include antique furnishings. A beautifully renovated courtyard with patio seating is the setting for our complimentary continental breakfast.
I love staying at little b&b type places and historic inns...the staff was so incredibly kind and helpful, especially the housekeeping lady who went above and beyond for us. This was my 3rd time to NOLA and really the first time I felt any kind of "unsafe" in the area. Nothing to do with the hotel, just the area in general. We had a major situation on the ghost tour we were on and kind of set the tone for the couple of days here. Not sure that I would personally return to NOLA, but if you are looking for a cute, affordable place to stay near the FQ with super friendly staff...this is it. I loved on site parking as well as being able to request a balcony room.

When it comes to a charming pet friendly New Orleans Inn, Olde Town Inn is one of the best. Located in the historic and quiet Marigny neighborhood, our Guests stay in one of Americas four hippest neighborhoods according to Travel and Leisure, which is adjacent to the French Quarter and has a bohemian mix of residents and is the most charming, centrally located and historically significant neighborhood in New Orleans, only a short 2 block walk to the famous music and restaurants of Frenchmen Street. Our luscious tropical Courtyard is an oasis and our rooms are eclectically furnished combining antiques with modern amenities.
THE PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE WERE VERY MISLEADING, THIS PLACE WAS A SCAM! The room was filthy, beds had no blankets, all the towels had brown stains, the shower curtain was white but stained brown and moldy. My headboard had red stains all over it, and the room only had 1/2 a roll of partially used toilet paper in it when I arrived. The deadbolt was BROKEN OFF the door, I did not feel safe at all during my stay. To make matters worse, I had money stolen from me while on the property!!! Upon my arrival I noticed a leaf outside my door that had "people steal here" scribbled on it, and I should've listened! I booked here in an attempt to save money, but after losing sleep for the 3 nights I was here, terrified someone was going to break into my room or rob me again, I would say it is absolutely worth it to pay a little more to stay somewhere else and actually feel safe. Drug addicts and homeless people wandered around the property at night. Please do not stay here!!!

Balcony Guest House, in the historic Faubourg-Marigny, is your New Orleans Bed and Breakfast above Silk Road NOLA restaurant (ground floor). Come and stay in our unique New Orleans Bed and Breakfast and see why everyone who stays here loves it. Only six blocks from the French Quarter, four blocks from Frenchmen street and three blocks from the Mississippi River. Historic, alluring and relaxed (Creole Caribe), with a New Orleans style wrap-around balcony.
Almost everything went wrong here. First of all, I was overcharged for my stay. Property management was not willing to work with me on this even given a months notice ahead and started to threaten cancelling my stay over $75 during Mardi Gras season stating that I was a red flag for trying to understand why I was charged for an additional person that was not a part of the reservation. I was told not to reach out to booking.com and am now out this amount. I’ve attached these to this review. Second, the area is not safe and we felt very uncomfortable each night. As mentioned in other reviews, roaches can be seen throughout the hotel/property and this was a major concern for cleanliness. At night we also heard little footsteps around which we thought may be mice. I did not feel as though I could contact this property with any concerns I had because of the way that they handled our initial problem - definitely a toxic environment over such a small amount of money. The walls are very thin and so you can hear everything that other tenants are doing (sexual activity, discussions and also just showering). Everything is very out dated and even one of the windows was shattered. I didn’t even feel comfortable parking my car outside. No soap, shampoo or conditioner were provided. Honestly, if I wouldn’t have booked this 8 months ahead I would have done this whole thing completely different as they shamed me for trying to save money for booking in advance. I do not recommend this property for families or a group of friends (specifically women). I’ve never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism and I have traveled to all 50 states and 14 countries. Please save yourself the trouble and safety as New Orleans is already known for being potentially unsafe; this property enhances it.

Located in the historic Faubourg Marigny just two blocks from the French Quarter and four blocks from Frenchmen Street (popular with the neighborhood's locals), at Chez Palmiers you'll be within easy walking distance of many of the sites, restaurants, bars and clubs, and the characters and music that have made New Orleans famous. The new streetcar line is steps away, making it easy to explore other parts of the city as well. After busy days of sightseeing, come back to our year-round pool and relax under the palm trees in our quiet backyard retreat.
We needed a 1 night stop before going onto a conference -- I wish we could have stayed much longer. The B&B itself is charming, the rooms exactly as they were advertised - very neat and clean and easily accessible. The property itself had a wonderful back yard with swimming pool and 2 charming dogs. Betsy is fabulous - so interesting to talk with, wonderful ideas as to food and sights to try, and she makes a perfect continental breakfast with more than you could want to try. We would definitely return.
