Wonderful room and service for the price point. The room was clean so was the washroom. The towels and bedsheets were dry cleaned. Ticked all boxes. The owner Indika was attentive and was willing to help and any time of the day or night. Highly Recommend

"Clover Grange" a unique and distinctive boutique hotel located in the heart of the historical city of Matale, Offers a sensuously satisfying experience for the discerning traveler.
Worst restaurant in matale with bad quality foods and very bad customer service. I won't recommend anyone to visit here. Poor management and no proper maintenance. Cleanliness is zero with no hygiene facilities.

Quality & simple homely type rooms with an affordable price. A calm & a quiet place with a homely touch & home cooked meals as per your request & taste. Just a few minutes drive from Matale city & an hour's drive to Riverston / Sembuwatta Lake / Kawatiyamuna Temple & 10 minute's drive to "Sri Muthumariamman Kovil" & "Aluvihare Historic Temple."
Can't say enough about Ranjan and his lovely family. They looked after us like their own family. The food was great and they were so helpful helping us with transport and logistics. Also gave us a free upgrade. Rooms were very clean and nice powerful shower! This is the only place to stay in Matale especially if you have a young family.

Strathisla B&B Bungalow - tea estate accommodation near Kandy, Sri Lanka. Set amid the stunning mountain hinterland of Matale where the days are always warm, Strathisla tea estate bungalow is a delicious memory of what life was like for the old time colonial tea estate owners. Originally set up as a coffee plantation on 400 acres way back in 1860, Strathisla B&B bungalow is now a charming guest house open to all. Being located just 50 minutes north of Kandy means that Strathisla B&B guest house is perfectly placed to explore the central parts of the island - from The Knuckles ranges in the east to Sigriya and Dambulla in the north. Whether you prefer hiking, cultural sites or just lazing around the pool, Strathisla tea estate bungalow will be sure to be a memorable experience you will never forget.
A gorgeous former tea estate mansion. Felt like a private villa escape; gorgeous building; large bedrooms and an amazing pool. All set in a picture postcard setting of paradise. The house is set on a hill with tea plantations and herbs and fruits growing all around the hill sides. The staff here are great. The chef makes the best breastfasts (including lots of options for fussy Western kids). The evening meals are a full banquet with your table being coveted in different bowls of gorgeous food. I would recommend this escape to anyone; very easy to loose yourself with the tranquil sound of the birds amd the visual sights of paradise.

A relaxing and quiet retreat, situated at the top of a 100-acre organic forest garden and farm. Ideal for relaxing by the pool or walking through the forest/plantations. Guests can visit the see different local spices being grown for commercial use under organic practices, or visit the farm to have a look at the animals. Most of the ingredients used, including meats are from the farm and processing centre.
We had a lovely room and must especially give a big compliment to the kitchen chef who really spoiled us with his great creations! Unfortunately the pool was not usable because the water was green. Lack of chloride supplies. Overall a good experience.

The bungalow is recommended by the Tourist Board as a 120 year old Deluxe Heritage Bungalow. It lies in 7 acres of tea estate land with glorious mountain views, hill country tea trail walks, and mountain bike adventures. We offer luxurious accommodation with superb Sri Lankan food cooked in traditional ways within a tranquil rural village environment.
Gammaduwa Bungalow is a wonderful heritage tea planter's home located high up in the Knuckles Mountains which has been lovingly renovated and restored by Dave and Sengli, who along with their team welcomed us while maintaining covid requirements. The local Sri Lankan cuisine amazing and creative with such as a young jackfruit curry which to a carnivore was so unbelievably like meat, along with other dishes and chutneys tingled my taste buds. The choice of either western or local cuisine, afternoon teas with fresh baked cakes and scones washed down with their own artisan tea was also something else. Enjoying the views whilst sitting out on the veranda being served breakfast afternoon tea or dinner feeling more like part of the family than a paying client, certainly one enters as a customer and leaves as a friend this my second trip to this relaxing hideaway in remote and dramatic mountainous tea plantation setting. Thanks David, Sengli and your team for yet again a welcoming and restful experience in this haven of peace, in the middle of the mountains and wish you all a wonderful and safe 2022 and the opportunity for you to welcome many more guests to enjoy the wonderful experience and many activities that are on offer as part of the Gammaduwa Experience I chose to just relax.

Experience comfort, friendly service and natural surroundings. An ideal hotel destination to return to after exploring the renowned sights and attractions of the cultural triangle in Sri Lanka.
We passed Country Side on our bike holiday. It is a good location. Big rooms, good shower, and good beds. Especially the ayurvedic plant tour in the garden with all the explanation and odours was very nice. But the selling afterwards of the oils was to much pressure. But worth it to do it!
