On the banks of the Volga River, Kazan sits austerely, its cityscape a visual confection of architecture that somehow manages to be both playful and severe. No matter your spiritual inclination, you simply must visit the Temple of All Religions, a Technicolor cultural center built by artist Ildar Khanov. Though still a work in progress, the "temple" is a feast for the eyes—and the spirit.

The boutique Hotel Don Quixote is really sweet. Lovely decorated and nice staff. Rooms are ok and breakfast is more Russian style, but enough. Only pity thing, no way to do a late checkout - not even 1-2hrs. Was not so pleasant for us!

My wife, neice and I stayed at the Milena hotel for 5 days, and were pleased with the hotel and service (for a mid-range priced hotel). Clean, neat, our initial room was a bit cramped, so we asked to upgrade to an "apartment" type accomodation. Took a day to get approval (since the room could technically take six people, and management was a little relunctant at first to give us the upgraded room) but, everything worked out. There was much construction work on the roadways going on in the area, but outside of that, no other complaints. Most everything we wanted to see and do was withing walking distance (if you don't mind walking, which is the best way to see Kazan). Bauyon Street, which is the major pedestrian thoroughfare running east/west is only 3 blocks away. A small supermarket was nearby for us to purchase fruit, cheese and water. In the mornings is a very nice breakfast bar, leaving you full to begin your days journey. I would like to compliment Yuri, Alina, Ilona and Angelina for their hospitality and assistance in arranging our excursions to tourist sites outside of the city. I have stayed at fancier places in other countries with much less service than the staff provided for us. My compliments to the Melina staff! There are plenty of places to eat at moderate prices. Believe it or not, for lunch and dinner, there is an excellent restaurant/cafe right next door! If you drive there (as we did), there is complimentary secured parking behind their building (same property). You cannot go wrong staying at the Milena Hotel. I highly recommend them.

The hotel is located in a 14-storey building with floors from 5 to 12 and has 92 rooms: 2 suites, 7 junior suites, 83 standard rooms. Near the hotel there are sports complexes and shopping centers, cafes and restaurants that allow guests to have a good time and do shopping.
Big room and acceptable hotel but hard to find the entrance. I had breakfast on my room rate and they told us up to 11 am but when i went there at 10:30 they simply had nothing and they were saying with little english we have finished. they didn't have bread , no egg no tea . it was very disappointing and rude . Iron was not available for rooms and they have alocated special room in 5th floor for ironing.

Europe hotel is situated in historical centre of Kazan.Hotel Europe offers 22 comfortably furnished rooms with free wireless Internet access. There are cafe of national Tatar dishes and restaurant of European cuisine. There is also sauna and beauty salon.
Hotel is on the main pedestrian mall so you have to walk from the street behind with your luggage to get to the front of the hotel. We arrived late in the evening so it was very quiet. The sleeping area was small with an unnecessarily large wardrobe taking up a lot of the space, leaving no where to put your suitcase. The bathroom was of a good size with only a shower which you had to step up into. The curtains are not blackout and in the summer it gets light very early, around 4am. In a double room we had only been supplied with one towel and one hand towel, so at 10.30pm I had to wander back down to reception to ask for another towel. I also had to ask for two pillow slips as the spare pillows didn't have any and the pillows on the bed were less than 3cm high. In saying that the bed was very comfy. The room was clean and quiet and we had a good sleep until the sun came up. Breakfast was very disappointing with limited choices. A small two slice toaster to toast packaged bread that had been cut in half, the only eggs available were boiled. Not my cup of tea.

I stayed in tis hotel 19-23 March. The hotel is in a great location. However, the maoney paid and the service you get is a total contradiction! wall isolation is terrible! You hear everything going on in the next room! The water pipeline is totatl mess! For the first time in my life got dirty, total rusty water both from the lavatory tap and in the shower!! Second day, I got no internet! No connection for the computer but slight connection for the phone! Third day, no TV, no telephone, no internet connection in the room!! Can you imagine? total mass but got no help except from an apology for maintanence going on in the hotel!!! Yes, at 03:00 a.m, you hear drilling sound! Not to mention the disco sounds on friday night!! This hotel does not worth the money you pay at least for this experience! By the way, hotel towels were a bit old but changed everyday!

My impressions are pretty much the same as the traveler few reviews below who rated it 2, however as we had worse experience I rate it 1 star. It's the only thing that put a shade on our Kazan trip. Having a pool/spa on my journeys is very important to me, so I always book hotels with it. Luciano seemed nice, although pretty expensive (160 $ per night is very high for Kazan), but we accepted it and booked 2 nights via their website. Our plane landed in Kazan from Moscow at 11.30 PM so we reached the hotel half an hour after midnight. A very unkind reception lady, without any smile asked for our passports. She held them for some 10 min after I asked her what's she doing. She explained she's making a copy of EVERY page and it's going to last for half an hour - I was shocked, thinking I was in a police station, not a hotel. I wanted them back, as it's jeopardizing my privacy but she coldly refused explaining that's the law. LIE - because tomorrow we left this hotel and moved to another one where they normally scanned only the first page. After some 30 min we were allocated our room which was in another part of the building and took almost 10 min to reach it by many corridors and doors in between them opening by a code, again like it's a police station. Room was nice, pretty new, but we were so tired we went to sleep immediately. Woke up at 8 and headed for a swim before breakfast like I always do. After some 10 min, while swimming, a "police squad" of 2 receptionists and a guard approached us by the pool demanding us to leave. I couldn't believe it. They explained we do not have the spa included, which I declined, and refused to leave. They made a scene down there, shouted at us and I simply couldn't believe such a behavior. I felt uncomfortable and humiliated in front of other guests, so we left and insisted to speak with the manager. We went for breakfast which was on a 2 star hotel level - some low quality cold meats and cheese in cheap plastic trays. The manager deputy awaited us in the lobby. I brought with me my printed hotel confirmation with room description explanation what's included from the hotel's website (SEE my photo). Another shock, she told us that's just the "explanation" of the room, but we must pay 5000 Rub (70 $ !!!) PER DAY for spa use. I again showed her the print where it says "includes access to aquazone and thermal spa area", but she insisted. I told her if so, we would leave and cancel the other night. She calmly said that was our decision, showing no will to settle the issue. Again, I couldn't believe such a behavior to customers. We checked out right after that and found another hotel for our second night in Kazan, but it took some time and put a shade on our Kazan visit, which is btw a beautiful city. I must express such arrogant and disrespectful hotel behavior I've never experienced in my life, in hundreds hotels I've stayed worldwide. I strongly advise future travelers to avoid this one.

Because of world cup 2018, We got this hotel very expensive. The real price for Russian is around 27€ and we pay 140€ per night!! Rooms are grand but without any facilities. There isn’t any daily cleansing. Also you cannot find any soap ni shampoos in your room. Lots of moustiques. Very bad quality of Wi-fi. Although there are two positives points : Hotel is at 650m from city center. Receptions are very kind.

Great Hotel in a good location. The Kremlin and Baumana street are in walking distance. Public transportation is really close and even a taxi from the airport is reasonable (book through Uber or Gett not the airport taxi stand). The train station is 5 minutes by taxi. The room is comfortable, nice private bathroom. A single room means one bed that is between a double and a queen sized bed. Double means two beds. Breakfast is nice but make sure you get what you order. The eggs and pancakes are great or the Omlette with the crepes like pancakes is also very tasty. The staff tries there best to communicate and they are extremely helpful. I can really recommend this Hotel
