The staff at Villa La Roca looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
My gf and i stayed two weeks at Daniels apartment rental. Beatiful place with balcony, kitchen, washroom, and A/C. Theres a restaurant right across the street that delivers to your door. Great authentic Cuban food. The apartment is safe and secure and a perfect get-away. Street venders passing throughout the day with fruit and vegetables. Quiet neighbors. Plenty of taxis passing to take you anywhere in the city. Not far from Loma de la Cruz, a beautiful place to view the city from above. Daniel and his wife are the hosts. Great people who treated us like family. Daniel picked us up at the airport and drove us anywhere we wanted to go. At the end of our stay he dropped us off at the airport as well. His English is quite good and his knowlege of the city is great. He is there to help guests anytime. The apartment was spotless when we arrived and he has a cleaning staff. Refrigerator loaded with soft drinks and beer should you wish to have a cold drink on the balcony and enjoy the palm trees and passersby.. Daniel is an excellent host. I wish i had someone like him at all my travel destinations!!! The rental fees are really inexpensive as well. Im a frugal person and i was quite impressed. We'll be back soon Daniel. Thanks for everything!!!

Be careful about the photos that you see on the internet because you might believe them to be real . The photos of Sol y Mar show a multi level, multi room casa with private terraces, nice airy rooms, and a huge dining room. Such is the power of a fish-eye lens. The rooms are miniature. in ours there was no where to put more than one small suitcase, there was not enough space for a dresser,so the bed was double duty, a place to layout clothes and essentials in the day and a place to sleep at night. Everything is Hobbit sized. The breakfast was good and worth the money, and the staff was friendly, so not a bad place to stay, but cramped.

See why so many travelers make Hostal Los Hermanos their guest house of choice when visiting Gibara. Providing an ideal mix of value, comfort and convenience, it offers a romantic setting with an array of amenities designed for travelers like you. The rooms offer air conditioning, allowing you to rest and refresh with ease. In addition, as a valued Hostal Los Hermanos guest, you can enjoy an on-site restaurant that is available on-site. If you like seafood restaurants, Hostal Los Hermanos is conveniently located near La Perla Del Norte. If you are interested in exploring Gibara, check out Museo de Historia Natural (0.1 mi), which is a short walk from Hostal Los Hermanos. At Hostal Los Hermanos, your comfort and satisfaction come first, and they look forward to welcoming you to Gibara.
I had an extended stay at Los Hermanos in the month of March, and despite fears of lack of supplies, those were totally unfounded. I arrived to 24 ice cold Cristal in the guest beer fridge (next to the shrine for St. Lazarus). That was replenished 10 days later when the fridge was empty. There were also plenty of small bottles and three jumbo plastic containers of water. There was no pop/soda as there was none in town except at bars and restaurants. Plenty of rum was for sale at the MLC store, and you could use a credit card, as long as it was not U.S. affiliated at the MLC store. Credit cards are NOT accepted at the casa. Once again, the Casa was absolutely immaculate. The beds were super comfortable. I chose the back ground floor room, as both it and the upstairs room have a double and a single bed. This casa offers five rooms although only four were open. There were only two other couples there , both for a two-night stay,. Breakfast consisted of mortadella ham, cheese, eggs, plenty of fresh buns, butter, coffee, milk, sugar, sweets ( sugar cookies and another triangular shaped cookie type sweet with guava paste inside), sliced pineapple and fruta bomba (papaya) as well as fruta bomba juice. The cost continues to be $5. Payment can be made in Euros, U.S or Canadian currency and is the equivalent of $25 per room per night, adjusted to the exchange rate of the day for the U.S. dollar. The same holds true for payment of breakfast and beer. You pay at the end of your stay and the patrona (Odalis) keeps track of everything. The nearby La Perla del Norte offers a full menu, depending on what is available from the sea. There was no lobster there for a month, but there was plenty of congrejo (crab) as it was crab season, along with pork, fish, shrimp and all the sides...con gris, (rice and beans) salad consisting of sliced tomatoes, cucumber, sometimes shredded carrots, and cabbage, sometimes beets, sometimes french fries when there were potatoes, white rice, boniato ( a sort of white sweet potato) crisps, a full range of cocktails and beer, flan, and ice cream. They also offer the best pizza in town, for anywhere from 200 to 300 pesos, depending on the type. My favourite was Hawaiin with fresh pineapple chunks and ham. All prices are in CUP. Odalis will exchange your currency with Moneda Nationale at a fair rate. When I was there it was 75 cup for one Canadian dollar. There is no need to go to a bank because you will get a third of that. In March, because of a lack of tourists, La Perla was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, although they did open one of those nights when a group of tourists staying at Hotel Ordono made a reservation. Other restaurants in Gibara are also reopening, and they are 98% frequented by residents as tourism has yet to pick up in town. If your country of origin still requires you to provide a negative rapid or PCR test, Odalis can arrange the test to be taken at the hospital. My flight left on a Monday. I had my test done at 9 a.m. Saturday morning with the results from the PCR back by 9 a.m Sunday morning. It is a guaranteed 24 hour time period for results. There was no cost for the test. All workers at the casa and restaurant are vaccinated. The cleaning staff and kitchen staff were all masked. Reservations are starting to pick up at Los Hermanos and other casas are or are in the process of slowly reopening. If you are planning to attend the International Film Festival this year in August, I strongly advise you to make a reservation early, as requests are already coming in. There is a reason Los Hermanos has been and continues to be rated one of the top two casas in Gibara year after year. The hospitality and service never fail to impress.

Villa La Roca 1940 is located in Holguin was built in 1940, high-ceilinged, kept its architectural structure of the 40s, composed of porch, living room, kitchen, two terraces: one in the first level and one on the second floor, guarded garage, and three bedrooms with private bathrooms, two of which are for rent. Holguin was our first stop in Cuba and we were warmly welcomed by Daniel and his family. It is a beautiful, quiet house with a great terrace and not far from the Center. Daniel and his family take care of everything and helped a lot to organize our Trip in Cuba. It is a very clean house has a good Breakdance and is an ideal place to stay in Holguin. We felt very comfortable

Nice lady whose son is a doctor. The rooms are pretty, but I found spiderwebs bugs in the room. Lots and lots of ants. I accidentally left a towel there we contacted them five times before they would admit I left the towel. It eventually got to the tour guide and I gave it to him as a gift

I like the house of Rodolfo and Amarilis. It is close to the best dancing places in Holguin. They are lovely couple. The breakfasts were awesome. My room had a nice terrace. Definitively, if I return to Holguin, Rodolfo and Amarilis house is the place to stay.
