Premium scuba diving and snorkeling are the highlights of the gorgeous Havelock Island, the most popular of the Andaman Islands. Glass-bottomed boats provide a similar up-close marine life experience. Jungle treks and camping are popular landlubbing activities, though the more delicately dispositioned can choose to retire to one of several luxury resorts. Refuel with fresh coconut milk and succulent, just-caught seafood, which dominates every meal.

BREATHE in the fresh sea air, let it invigorate and RELAX you. Take in the view of the green jungles and rice paddy fields from your private cottage. Revitalize yourself with simple and scrumptious island cuisine. Tucked away in the lush forests of Havelock Island, The Flying Elephant is situated in the small village of Kalapathar…away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist area of the island. We offer you a haven to restore your connection to nature…the azure sea is only a short stroll away and waits for you to plunge into its warm tropical waters. White sands extend as far as the eye can see…walk for miles with only the hermit crabs and sea birds as your guides. The jungle anticipates your quiet footsteps…explore on your own or with a guide. Meander between the village houses and paddy fields taking in a taste of local island life. We invite you to experience a quieter world away from it all…slow down, rejuvenate and recharge!!!
Flying Elephant is far removed from the more populated and frequented parts of Havelock Islands. While that might not have been a problem if the property was self sufficient, the place fails spectacularly in ensuring quality hospitality for their guests. They have no restaurant, and the person at the front desk told us he would leave at 4 pm to handle his other property which was in the main part of the island. There is no other hotel, restaurant or shop for roughly 5 kilometers. The only saving grace is that Kala Patthar beach is roughly 500 m away. We reached Havelock around lunch time and got to Flying Elephant, where we were greeted by the absence of any food. We luckily had some biscuits which we gorged on, and set to Kala Patthar to eat some maggi and coconut water. There is no signal, and no autos that you can hail in this stretch and we ended up walking through 5 km of forest at dusk with bees and dogs as occasional unfriendly companions. We later found out that this stretch was avoided even by locals, and even complimentary restaurant pickups refrain from venturing so far in the back of the beyond. The night was spent in fear and agony. We have been in eco-frienfly resorts before, but none where the management was so poor. We were always afraid of something crawling on the bed from under the short mosquito net. The towels in the bathroom had almost a layer of insect carcasses stuck on them and were unusable. The bamboo mat wall of the shower area had a gaping hole near the floor. The next morning we had arranged for our conveyance to the ferry to reach at a certain time, and told the reception an hour in advance of the time we wanted to leave and what we wanted for breakfast from their menu, since the food was to be prepared off premises in some other space and carried here. Our auto had come and yet there was no sign of the food, the front desk man had nary a care and was more interesting in offering me a massage than expediting the breakfast. The breakfast was undercooked, and the cut fruits still had their stickers on them. Only after getting the delayed breakfast were we informed that our choice of food was time consuming (paratha and pancakes). While the property is beautiful, it is not maintained well at all, in favour of other more lucrative properties the chain has. Would strongly recommend choosing one of their properties closer to the main area, so one at least has options of food and conveyance nearby.

Famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and tropical green canopy of the rainforest, Havelock Island is one place which beckons everyone to enjoy the fun of the azure sea. Havelock Island Beach Resort Pvt.Ltd. is situated at beach no 2 Govind Nagar Beach (1 km from Havelock Harbor). Blessed with the vast diverse flora and fauna and the uninterrupted views of tropical greenery.

Our resort is essentially a ‘better’ back packers budget resort and therefore have limited facilities. We are very popular with international guests looking for a relaxed beach hut type atmosphere. We also take pride in being environmentally friendly and hence do not have air-conditioning TV's and telephones. Hot water is available by bucket only at the wood fired boiler near to the rooms. We try and reduce the impact tourism causes on our little piece of paradise as much as we can. Therefore our Policy is against surplus usage of resources. Our property is rustic, made with organic material (bamboo mat walls, thatched roof), open to sky showers etc and therefore may not be suited for all (If you do not like open spaces and are scared of nature then this place is not for you)
This was our second time we stayed at Emerald Gecko. As a group of youngsters it is perfect as it has beach access and cozy/budget accommodations. As a family and couple, the place is nice for a few days, but it lacks the luxuries and facilities of a hotel. This is a beach hut eco-friendly property, so do not expect air conditioning, room service, flat screen TV and toiletries. However, the staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. We had to extend our stay on the island beyond our reservation, but the place had no vacancies, so the staff helped us arrange alternative accommodation and assisted with transfer. Overall we had a very good experience the both times we stayed there.

The property is located in a non-crowded area of Havelock (considering Havelock is a really small). Simple, clean and spacious rooms with wonderful service almost within 5 minutes. Big recommendation for solo women travellers. The hosts are a wonderful couple Jafer and , extremely warm and welcoming duo. I visited Andamans for my B'day vacation and they both made it a truly memorable one. Jafer accompanied me for free diving and made me experience the waters like I couldn't ever imagine for the first venture into the ocean. On the other hand his very lovely wife, made me a heart shaped brownie cake to make sure I felt special and didn't miss my family. Their lovely daughters made sure I didn't miss my chatty niece. My first trip to Havelock will always be close to my heart, and a big reason is cos I chose to stay at Havelock Resorts. Thank You Jafer & Noorja!

Aparupa Sands Marina is a beachside resort in Havelock. It currently has 16 deluxe cottages open for the tourists.
Located close the the Jerry helps in saving time for sure. The staff is very helpful and courteous. We had ordered for Butter Chicken and it was yummy ?. The swimming pool is sufficient in length and is very freshening with the family. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous located on the 1st floor with balcony. The breakfast buffet was a major disappointment. Toasted breaded was kept idle with flies all over it. No fresh juice but packed option. Limited breakfast spread. They apparently ran out of towels so provided only one towel for a family of 4 and even no replacement on the toilet roll as they said not available. Found it strange. Overall a safe and reliable property to stay at.

White coral beach resort is eco-friendly resort with all amenities. Our resort is next to beach
We were checked in to this hotel/resort in Mar 21. This was by far the not so sober/good experience at this place. Although the façade looks impressive, inside it is still a work in progress. The rooms are all interworked using wood which gives a pungent smell constantly. Considering the nearby properties, the hotel has a very small personal coast and the reception is also not very keen on attending your requirements. Bathroom was also smelling foul and although spacious, not much can be expected. The property needs work. Infact there is a nearby Dhaba/Hotel which is providing delicious food one must try.
