Iizaka Onsen (飯坂温泉) is an easy 25-minute train ride from Fukushima Station. It has numerous Onsen Inns, and Matsuriya Yuzaemon (祭屋 湯左衛門) is one of the good ones to choose from. With 34 rooms, I consider it medium-sized. Matsuri of Matsuriya means festival, so in the afternoon and evenings, we heard Japanese festival music. (In the morning, they switched to classic music, a nice subtle touch.) Matsuriya Yuzaemon has 1 indoor onsen, and 3 outdoor onsen for each of men and women. Hot water temperature was just right, and it was so relaxing. We soaked in 4-5 times during a single night stay. The hotel was full, but Onsen area was never crowded. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We ate at a private dining room on the first floor. On Saturdays, they provide a traditional taiko (Japanese drum) performance by local lads. It's a special style called Kenka (Street Fight), and it was the most energetic and excellent taiko performance I have ever watched. The room was clean and quiet, facing Surikamigawa River and hills behind the river. The room was stocked with the typical Japanese inn amenities. The staff are friendly and helpful in Japanese. Overall, Matsuriya Yuzaemon is a high-quality, fun place to stay in Iizaka Onsen. Matsuriya Yuzaemon is probably about 10 minute walk from Iizaka Onsen Station. They provide a shuttle bus service, but we opted to walk both ways, as there are interesting places in between. You should visit this traditional Onsen town, and if you stay in the area, I highly recommend Matsuriya Yuzaemon.

The room is clean and comfortable. Our plan was in this hotel for short time staying from 22:00 to 10:00!! But I went to Fukushima after work so it is enough to stay. The hotel has a normal amenities and we can choose to ours best shampoo, conditioner, body soap It was not included the breakfast but we went out early in the morning and can walk to the station so it is easy to eat out I think.

We went to Yoshikawaya after a festival to have a bath in the onsen part. It's really 'Japanese' like. This was my first onsen experience but I'm not disappointed at all. The bath had many placed to put your clothes, had enough mirrors, hair dryers and free throwable combs, hair ties and toothbrushes. Getting into the bath part, they had at least 20 showers with buckets, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner (the hair products weren't really good for my weak and light European hair, though). After the shower you can choose from an inside and an outside pool. Even the inside pool has a great view from the wall size windows but the outside pool is the best with the rock and the feeling of nature aropund you. The bath is on a hill so you can look below and see a small river flowing between the mountains. It's really cool.

I had never stayed in a traditional Japanese hotel before, and this place was an experience for me. The room was ENORMOUS, which was surprising given the small hotel rooms I'm used to in Japan. Everything was top of the line here, from the bedding, to the service, to the meals. The onsen was an incredibly relaxing way to end my day, taking a soak just before bed. This place was difficult to find, but was worth the journey. The price was not cheap as far as Japanese hotels go, but considering that we got a 5 star dinner and breakfast included, it was a heck of a value.

This was my first experience at a Ryokan. I would only recommend that you book here if you speak Japanese. I don't, but my brother does, and he had to translate everything for me. If you don't speak Japanese, it might be difficult. The room was large with a separate sitting area for enjoying the river. There were six futons available, so I admit to 'doubling up', since I am not used to sleeping on such a firm surface. Soft beds make soft bodies, so that makes me soft. The meals were huge. Seriously, I think they tried to kill us with food. I don't know how other guests were able to finish their meals. Even after starving myself the second day, and climbing Mt Bandai in preparation, I still was stuffed to the gills and could barely move, after dinner. The service was excellent, and the Onsen was lovely. They switch out the men's and women's baths each day, so you can experience both. They have both a natural hot spring bath (outside) as well as an indoor bath. If Google Translate is working correctly, one of the earlier reviews stated that they don't have soap? When I was there, they had all the amenities for cleaning yourself, such as body soap, shampoo, conditioner, foot scrub, etc. There were some things I didn't recognize, but one I found to be a foundation after trying it (not my skin tone). The fragrances are pretty strong in all the personal care products that I tried in Japan, so I bring my own.

Everything was very nice. Unfortunately, our check-in was late and I didn't have much experience in the onsen. But nevertheless, the hotel worth staying there. The room was wide with futon bed. In the morning the staff brought japanese breakfast to the room. Everything was good.

We are located in the center of Tsuchiyu Onsen, Fukushima city. It is convenient to walk around the town. All the rooms are with japanese traditional tatami. Enjoy eight hot spring baths. Spring quality is hydrogen carbonate spring and simple hot spring. They are effective for injuries, gout, stiff shoulder, low back pain, and neuralgia. There are more than 1000 Kokeshi dolls inside the facility, you can find the difference between each dolls. Japanese style dinner will be served in your room. Bedding is a Japanese-style mattress. Wi-Fi is available and we have an English speaker at the front desk.
We stayed for 2 nights at Ryokan New Ougiya and for our entire 2 week trip, and it was the most comfortable 2 nights we had. It took us about 30 minutes drive to get there from Fukushima station so it is quite conveniently close by. The first night we arrived quite late, and despite having advised us in advanced that there would be no eateries open by then, the chef managed to create something (vegetarian) for us. We were very thankful for the hospitality. Food was excellent: fresh and generous, we partook in breakfast which was enough to fill us up well past lunch time. There were a variety of different onsens to use, both public and private, we chose the private ones during our stay and once we got used to the hot water, they were extremely comfortable. Clean also. Staff was overall excellent. English was better than I anticipated so communication was not an issue as well. We enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend it highly if travelling to the Fukushima Prefecture.
