Legend has it that notorious pirate Sir Francis Drake hid his treasures somewhere in Drake Bay, hence the name. Doubloons or not, there are plenty of natural treasures to marvel over, like lush rainforests and colorful sea life. Invest in a guided hiking, diving, fishing, tubing or treetop canopy tour to get the full Drake Bay experience. “Tracie the Bug Lady” even offers a night tour to acquaint you with all of the local creepy crawlies.

Pura Vida Drake Bay Cabins is located in the center of Drake Bay just 400 meters from the beach, since its opening in 2007 to been operated by a couple of young Costa Ricans, Norlyn and Gabriela. All our rooms have air conditioning, private bathrooms, hot water and we offer our new kitchen for your convenience. We also have a secure parking and beautiful garden with hammocks right on the terrace of your room. We also organize guided tours to Corcovado National Park (Sirena or San Pedrillo Station) Caño Island (Diving or snorkeling) and more! Cabinas Pura Vida is your best option in Bahia Drake by price, quality and service, we will be glad to serve you!
The place us by the road, a little uphill from the beach. There is no restaurant here, just a communal area where you can sit and a kitchen where you could maybe cook and store your things in the fridge. They serve ok breakfast here. Rooms had good AC and ok beds. They didn't gave drinkable water here as in so many Costa Rican places do. Booked a really good Corcovado day tour through this place run by Rancho Corcovado and guide Sandro who was great! The place has 2 dogs which bark quite a lot (as prob. all local dogs here). My biggest issue with this place was the apparent absent of staff on the premises during the night time which lead to their dogs barking sessions on several occasions every night. I can only imagine how bad the guests staying in the adjacent room to reception slept. (Actually it's now midnight and I again woke up because of the the dogs). Maybe for a local barking is not a problem but I can imagine that for most of the tourists it is. I felt that people managing/owning the place just don't care it that much: place lacked all the character of the place that you would love.

The house is a wooded building, with an ocean view balcony, located away from the main town, but just 200 meters from the beach; it also has a tropical garden with a lot of forest in the backyard, a lot of wildlife is spotted from the balcony. Yamileth and Pedro Caravaca offer rooms with a ceiling fun, and hot water shower, free breakfast, laundry service, tours with the best guide in the area. The hotel is located in very private place with the best views and the best service.
Pedro found us on the beach and drove us the short but steep trip up where we were staying near the main house: the "Casa Bosque" or "Forest House". It doesn't look like much upon arrival besides being adjacent to some trees near the driveway and having an elevated, inclined ramp walkway leading to the door. Inside is an airy cabin with a double bed, two twin beds, an adjoining bathroom and kitchenette. There's two big windows and two ceiling fans, the latter we used on high basically the whole time while inside during the day because it was so hot. The view from the balcony is gorgeous, looking kind of north out over Drake Bay. It's relatively secluded, with lots of vegetation and trees, which on the second day meant we had a bunch of monkeys jumping from our roof to branches right next to us. It was stunning to see them so close, and I've shared a picture of them and a big iguana that was constantly hanging out in one of the trees. The sounds of the birds and forest are almost constant which I loved. We were warmly greeted by Yami, the hostess, and she suggested we connect via whatsapp so she could help arrange tours or answer questions which was nice. She got us a couple spots on a snorkel tour the next day even though it had seemed they were all booked up, which was super helpful. We arranged breakfast timing and whether we wanted gallo pinto or pancakes that way, too. Yami, Pedro, and the rest of the staff are kind and accommodating. I need to lose some weight so the short walk up the steep hill a couple times a day got me closer to that, but since it's so steep and someone in a wheelchair wouldn't be able to access the Casa Bosque I wanted to make a note of it. Overall you do feel like you are suddenly away from the beach and high in a forest, and for the nature immersion alone I'd give it 5 stars. The hospitality was excellent and room had what we needed to ensure we could make the most of it. Thank you Yami and Pedro!

Nice but basic. Stayed 3 days and was ok but wouldn’t stay longer. Food portion sizes rather small. Friendly service for sure. But then there are not many great hotels/accommodations in Drakes Bay unless you pay over the odds. So if you come for 3 days it will be ok.

We just stayed one night but plan to return. The room was large, clean, comfortable and tastefully finished. The manager and staff went out of their way to be helpful and easily spoke English with us. The pool was small but refreshing, and Dixon’s breakfast was great

Hotel Rancho Corcovado a familiar and personalized hotel set in a private nature reserve in Drake Bay meets the wild Pacific Ocean, a destination matching everyone's notion of paradise. It is the ideal site to combine both relaxing and adventure in a pure and natural setting hosted by a Costa Rican Family native to the area, who take special care to show visitors the beauty of plant, animal and marine life of the region which is a gift of God. Hotel Rancho Corcovado is located on the OSA Peninsula in the province of Puntarenas in Costa Rica.
I brought my son and his friend to Drake Bay for a fishing trip and we were lucky enough to have chosen a nice family run lodge on the beach. We stayed in a large room with ocean view and woke up to white-faced monkeys, toucans and Macau’s every morning and the girls in the beach kitchen fed us 3 beautiful meals a day as if we were royalty. Love that place and the people that make it happen Charles

Amazing location very close to the forest and beach is very close. Everyone is extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was so good and home cooked. They take you to the beach to get onto boats and even carry your luggage for you when you arrive and leave. The bungalows are great and stay cool all day.The views of the garden of the forest are ti die for. They helped us organise tours before we for there and the tours were also really good. The best part was having breakfasts with the hummingbirds. We also saw monkeys, Toucans and plenty of other birds from our hammock. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so wonderful

Martina's place is a really great hostel. We went there three times and it was everytime very clean. Also Vincent is friendly and helped us a lot with giving us information about local activities and transportation. There's a nice young atmosphere. We really recommend this place!! :)

We adjust to all types of budget without lowing the quality of our service and presenting interesting choices that exceed your expectations. We are just 3 minutes from the beach, and only 2 minutes from downtown Drake, walking, where you can find many options to have some fun and have a great time.
Sadly I no longer like this lodging. Walls are thin and guests next door were frequently loud talkers. Staff were mostly rude this trip. Cleaning lady was only friendly on the mornings when she cleaned my room. She was on her cell talking loudly near my room regularly when she likely was expected to be working. One morning 3 staff were talking extremely loudly while I was eating breakfast. Due to the noise, I left 4 days early to go to a quieter place. They refused to give me any refund which is the first time I have not been given a refund anywhere in the country when I was not happy with the lodging.

Casita y Tours Happy Feet is located on the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica.Perfect place for travelers who looking for nature and peace.Located on the main street, there are two floors,a shared kitchen,a beautiful view of the main garden and an adorable terrace as well as a social area where you can read or play board games.INCLUDES BREAKFAST! 150 from restaurants, supermarkets and the beach.
I had the worst experience staying in this place. The owner charged extra for a/c even though in booking conditions it was included. The place doesn’t worth the money. The service is poor. And it is not safe
