A rainbow assortment of palafitos (wooden houses on stilts) are the unofficial calling card of Castro, the capital city of Chiloé Island. Once home to thousands of farmers and a target for European pirates, Castro was established in the 16th century and is Chilé’s third-oldest city. Highights here are the astonishing wooden church, an impressive contemporary art museum and the charming wharf in the Gamboa district.

Bed and breakfast, tour and kayaking.Only 2 blocks from the rural bus terminal, a few blocks from the square, the stilt tourism, farmers market, harbor and waterfront. 8 rooms, single, kitchen available, laundry service.2 bathrooms Internet Wi-Fi free.
We stayed here for 5 nights to explore Isle de Chiloe. The hostel is spotlessly clean everywhere. Great breakfasts and a very chilled out place to relax in after big days exploring. Luis was very friendly and gave us loads of information on the island: where to visit, public buses, places to eat, etc. Great location 4min walk to bus station at the top end of town. Safe and quiet.

Conveniently located in Castro city centre, 30 metres from the town's main square, Hotel Esmeralda offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi. A daily Continental breakfast is included.Rooms at Esmeralda are equipped with cable TV, Wi-fi, heating, telephones and private bathrooms.
Stayed for 10 days and really enjoyed our stay . Opposite the beach and very close to Old Town so position was perfect . Poor rooms though and the pictures of rooms are very old because they certainly don't look like that now and definitely need another re-furb . Staff were nice , food was ok and views were lovely from the front balcony's . Would still consider returning because of the position and cost , but would like a redecorated slightly larger room and a tv with uk channels .

Had a lovely stay here on a quick stopover before a flight out the next am. Clean room, friendly staff, good location and filling breakfast with view of water while you eat. Who can ask for more? We stayed here in January 2020 but TA won’t let me select that date so just adding that caveat here on actual travel date.

Hospedaje Maria is located in Yumbel Street 1021, Castro, in a residential neighborhood, 8 blocks from the city center. Very close to the main tourist and cultural sites that make Castro one of the most attractive cities of Chiloé. This cosy family accommodation has 13 bedrooms, of which are divided into singles, doubles and tripe, with private and shared bathrooms, we have central heating, dining room, WiFi available in all areas, TV,Private parking. In addition, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast included in the value of the room. Open all year, with an uninterrupted schedule from 7:00 am until 23:00 pm.
We travelled to Hospedaje Maria on a recommendation from a friend, when we arrived we were a little worried that it was a bit out of town but we were able to quickly find a ‘collectivo’ to and from the hospedaje to get us where we needed. Maria also picked us up from the bus terminal which was really generous of her. The room we were given was spacious for the amount we paid and had comfortable bedding. Each room is heated with a TV. Breakfast is included in the price which was a great bonus also. There is shared bathrooms but They are cleaned regularly and there is also hot water with decent water pressure. Maria and her Husband were gracious hosts and were super helpful in giving us directions and ideas on what to do and see around chiloe, they made us feel very welcome as if we were guests in their private home. They also prepared an amazing dinner for us on our last day and took us on a short tour of the island. Hospedaje Maria was a great place for us as it gave us the ability to have our own privacy away from the noise of the main town centre, but not be too far away as to struggle to enjoy the trip. The only downfall is they do not speak a lot of English but with basic Spanish or even a small translator book you’d be absolutely fine communicating! Overall this was a great place to stay, decent price, decent location and a comfortable stay. Could not recommend more!

Atento a vuestra respuesta.

Hostal Amigable En Pleno Centro De La Ciudad De Castro. Cuenta Con Bar-restaurant Y Una Terraza Con Exelente Vista Al Mar
The room we had was in the basement, so no natural light or views. On the other hand, we generally only use the room for sleeping and showering, thus it did not bother us for the 1 night we stayed here. The room was larger than quite a few rooms in other hostals we had in Chile, but not spacious. There was a private bathroom, with hot water for both of us. The staff was very friendly, one can leave luggage, but it is not ideal. Wifi on the other hand was good and strong. Breakfast, not included, was nice but like elsewhere in Chile, rather small and not too filling.
