Set in the center of the historical town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the residence of the famous mayor Heinrich Toppler the "Goldene Greifen" - Golden Griffin - has always been a meeting point for societal life. Our house is listed and protected as a landmark - because of this none of our guest rooms are the same, but each one has its own unique charme.
We stayed here with our extended family. We occupied 2 rooms. One bigger room for a family of 4, and another room for a couple. The bigger room was huge! Both rooms were clean. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was satisfying.

Very welcoming host who gave loads of recommendations, and he even moved his own car, so we could park on his spot instead of in the street. The room was clean and well equipped, and although the bathroom was a little small is was very functional and had a nice shower.

I spent two nights in Molitor in November 2021 travelling solo to discover my ancestors' roots in the beautiful city of Bamberg and in Frankonia. The hotel is perfect for discovering the old city - especially for short midnight walks when those old German cities are the best. The personnel was extremely kind and helpful, and the room was a terrific value for the price I paid. A room in a XIV century building with the charme of those old buildings but also with a perfect modern German bathroom and a comfortable bed. What else might a traveler ask for? Tip: the hotel is located just a few minutes away from the famous Bamberger brewery Schlenkerlа. This is really convenient after a few beers there ?

One of the oldest hotels with a very nice flair in the center of the old city. You can reach everythig by feet in 2 or 3 minutes.
My husband and I stayed there with our German friends who had stayed there before. The hotel is cozy. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is very good. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The location is great! It is centrally located. I would stay there again!

For the price this was a very good place to stay in charming Rothenburg and I was happy that we had chosen a place inside the city gates instead of a hotel at the train station. The breakfast service at Pension Elke was great and the host went out of his way to make sure that we got all what we wanted and at the same time made sure to avoid the spread of virus by serving everything from the extensive buffet himself instead of letting guests get close and help themselves.

We spent as a family a weekend at this fantastic hotel and loved it absolutely. The hotel is new and the interior modern. All double rooms have a seat window, where you can watch the market happenings on Saturday. The hotel is very clean and you feel very comfortable. In addition, the hotel is located very good and is a great starting point for discovering Heidelberg. The owners are very hospitable and helpful in any matters. We felt very comfortable all around. We'll be back for sure!

Location: not even 10 minutes good walk from Bamberg railway station, easy reach by car, too. The building was formerly a bank location, thoroughly rebuilt into in a boutique hotel. I got a room at upper floor with breathtaking view to the Cathedral (Dom), Kloster Michelsberg und die Old Castle (Altenburg). Room very nicely and sustainably furnished in a very lighted atmosphere, with trendy old wood, you feel really the touch not only of an architect but of a loving family that act as "Gastgeber" as it is said in German. The great surprise in the morning: you get a very rich and healthy breakfast "downstairs", assuming this is old building cellar... and you be welcome by smiley competent and welcoming personnel into the bank vault, furnished with safety box (old) and fully shining vault door... felt like in the Harry Potter saga, visiting Gringotts! Very modern way to welcome the guests, through a reception which is working business hours ...as in the former bank :), with a very efficient and flawless mail communication where you will be given entry code in case you arrive later, and all instructions to retrieve your key. DO NOT FORGET to take the key along when you venture out in Bamberg! Hotel offers no restaurant, but there's one just outside the hotel, really 5 steps, or stroll around Bamberg and spoil yourself with ample choice. thanks for the hospitality, Vielen Dank, jederzeit sehr gerne wieder! Servus!

I’m not sure why but I am noticing that there seems to be a trend to not have adequate or logical arrangements to hang bath towels in bathrooms in upscale hotels. I find it very annoying. The bathroom here is great but there is nowhere to hang bath towels or bath robes. I’m annoyed enough about the issue I am docking their rating a star. Otherwise, the hotel is very nice. The staff members we have encountered are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast is quite good. The parking garage is excellent.

Was there in mid-October for an exhibition for 3 nights. Reception was excellent both during check-in and out. Service at the only restaurant at the hotel needs some improvement both at dinner and breakfast. I wasn't served or even asked if I required coffee/tea for all 3 days stay but I did notice others got asked. Was also forced to sit at bar for dinner as I was told I had no reservations and the maitre d' actually clicked his tongue and raised his eyebrows and wanted to turn us away until I mentioned we're guests at the hotel and there's nowhere else to go unless you took a taxi out. The rooms are tiny but clean. The beautiful compounds made up for the tiny rooms. No lifts so you do have to drag your suitcases up the stairs.

Service is bad, attitude of the staff is even worse and breakfast is the saddest thing. Don’t even try. Terrible beds, awfully dirty roms. Only good thing is the location, but except from that, nothing good. I will never come back! One of the staff woman was very nice though. German-american girl with curly hair was the one person who made the stay great. Nicest person i Germany, really!
