Located in the south cariboo in the heart of cowboy country. Montana Hill guest ranch offers 100's of acres to explore. My best friend C.H. and her family had booked three cabins for a 5 night/ 6 day stay for earlier this summer. Due to the wildfire situation, C.H asked the owners, Elaine and Al, if it would be ok to postpone their stay til this fall. Elaine and Al graciously agreed and the dates for the stay was set for mid October of this year. At the last minute, C.H had family members who were unable to stay at one of the three cabins and so she asked if my husband and I would like to join them. I had heard about Montana Hill Guest Ranch and immediately accepted this amazing invitation. As soon as my husband and I drove up to the main gate and saw two of the furried, four legged residents frolicking in the fields, I knew it was going to be one of the best holidays I would ever have. I was NOT disappointed! I was very impressed that each cabin was fully self contained and did NOT lack for anything! Even though their website advertises " a small kitchenette in each cabin" it MORE than met our needs for feeding the 6 adults and 2 children in our party for the week. The BBQs were newer and worked well for all of us. The small fridge held an amazingly large amount of food and there NEVER seemed to be a lack of hot water ever! Having our own personal little two person hot tub was delightful and each cabin was well and fully stocked with tons of wonderful amenities and toiletries that came in very handy during our stay. There was an abundance of towels and lots of additional bedding for those who might find it a little chilly at night. The absolute best part of our stay was the many animals around the ranch that would roam freely. We were greeted daily by the horses and cows (Chief, Sully, Stella and MJ to name just a few) and I looked forward to seeing the free range chickens that would always greet me every morning at my door. I fell instantly in love with Lu, the jungle bobcat who Elaine and Al walked twice daily and Sabrina, the amazing Bengal cross that even brought us proudly a couple of her "special offerings" from the fields ! ;) I loved watching the Stellar Jays fly amongst the trees and looked forward to seeing the gigantic resident raven do a fly by our cabin every morning and afternoon. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking and the utter serenity surrounding the ranch could not be beat anywhere. Although we did not have a chance to make cheese or go horse back riding, I look forward to my next stay next year to partake in these activities. My group and I did manage to milk Lexi, the gentle Jersey cow and bottle feed the two adorable 2 1/2 month old orphan calves. That truly was a highlight of our trip. If you are looking for a quiet place in the country to get away from it all, then Montana Hill Guest Ranch is the place you should go!

Birds of a Feather was a great experience! I happened to be traveling alone and I felt like I was with family. You can tell the hosts put their heart and soul into making this place more than special for their guests! Free range eggs for breakfast and extraordinary hot muffins right out of the oven? It was truly more than I expected and I will return.

Harking back to the days when the West End was Vancouver’s first residential neighbourhood, the 1906-built West End Guest House was once home to the Edwards family – some of their photographs of early Vancouver adorn the walls. Current owners Paul Wylie and David Birch have modernised the interiors and plumbing (all rooms are en suite), while retaining a period charm. The eight individually styled and named guest suites range from lush garden level (Superior King Garden Suite) to cosy top floor (Deluxe king Suite). Complimentary gourmet breakfasts, free parking for each room and free Wi-Fi add to the charm. It is on historic Haro Street, with easy access to the nearby Stanley Park seawall, or Davie and Robson Street shopping areas. The parlour with hearth is ideal for winter contemplation, while the veranda and garden beckon in summer months.
It was my first time visiting Vancouver and I’m happy I picked the West End Guest House! This bed and breakfast is a gem. Beautiful house with unique antique style. The bedroom and bathroom had beautiful designs and the bed was comfortable and cozy. The staff were super friendly and accommodating during my stay. The breakfasts were delicious and they offer a togo breakfast sandwich if you aren’t able to make the set breakfast time. Very flexible. I enjoyed the best baked muffins and cakes while staying there. Great location in downtown in a lovely neighborhood. Close to a lot of main attractions and easy access to transit. I had a really great time staying there by myself and will recommend to my friends and family. I hope to be back soon! :) - Eliza

Mountain charms meets urban oasis at The Larix in Kimberley, BC, a truly unforgettable alpine resort city nestled between British Columbia’s Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Steps away from Kimberley’s lively downtown shops and restaurants, this mountain chic boutique hotel offers fifteen stylish guest rooms and five sumptuous suits designed for today’s sophisticated traveller.
We stayed one night here and would have happily stayed longer. The decor was beautiful, newly renovated and homely while still being stylish. Amazing touches like USB ports next to the bed, a TV which is compatible with streaming services like Netflix and fluffy robes on the bed. An amazing touch was the communal room for teas, coffees and light snacks which you had access to whenever you’d like including a great espresso coffee machine! The owner Mark was so welcoming and told us all of the history of the hotel, some great nearby recommendations for things to do in the area. Summit the 8 month old puppy greeted us which was amazing! A fantastic nights sleep in a really comfortable bed in a great room, genuinely the best stay we’ve had across our 2 week road trip of Canada. Highly recommend!

1912 heritage Inn offering bed and breakfast with fabulous ocean views from all guest rooms. Located beside historic Beacon Hill Park in walking distance to downtown Victoria and across the street from the beach. Eleven spacious guest rooms with Ocean and Park views. Romantic getaway featuring jacuzzis, fireplaces, stained glass, antiques. Private bathrooms.
Dashwood Manor is a lovely old Victorian mansion with gorgeous views of the Salish Sea a short drive from downtown Victoria. I chose the Dorset Room as it had an outdoor balcony with a great view of the water and Olympia Range. It's on the 3rd floor so be ready to tote up your luggage. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. They started out every morning with yogurt and berries followed by fluffy pancakes, potatoes and bacon one day and eggs, toast and sausage another. OJ and apple juice as well as tea and coffee are offered. Cookies are a nice treat in the afternoon. Water and soda are available in the Breakfast room frig at all times. Our room was clean and comfortable and I'd definitely stay there again. And there's a wonderful walkway all along the water to help enjoy the view.

Nestled in the heart of Nelson’s historic city centre, The Dancing Bear Inn is the perfect ‘home base’ for travellers in search of backcountry adventures & authentic mountain culture. Our refurbished character estate is warm, charming, friendly — and has everything you need to feel at home.
Comfy beds, good kitchen and common areas. Great location in the centre of town so everything is easily walkable. The staff are great, in particular Cindy who was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a good stay. It would be good if the kitchen had a freezer.

One of Salt Spring’s finest restaurants & inns. The restaurant serves globally inspired cuisine made with locally harvested foods (Open for breakfast, Sunday brunch, lunch & dinner). The Inn's seven cozy rooms situates guests in the heart of Salt Spring Island, BC - walking distance to galleries, shops, marinas, the seaside boardwalk and the famous Saturday Outdoor Market.
This is a very quaint inn, not to be confused with a hotel. We did have what was probably the best room, which had a full 3-piece bathroom. Other rooms shared facilities. My only complaint on the room itself was that we didn't realize how noisy the road would be in the morning. It is the main road, after all. However, good news that there was no noise at night, which was welcome. The view would have been compromised by moving to the other side of the building. A little hiccup upon arrival was swiftly met with full accountability by staff and owner. We really appreciated that. Location is perfect. Lots to see and do without driving, which was especially welcome at night.

This appears to be an old hotel taken over by Sandman Inns. However , it had a burned out bathroom light, no television remote, mud on bed skirt and curtain, dirty coffee pot and mugs, broken glass on office door, restaurant closed because of sick cook, and wear points on walls and door. Bed was clean and comfortable. I WON'T BE BACK.

The Alberni Valley's finest accommodation, serving business and leisure travelers alike with exceptional value in elegant surroundings. At the 4-star Cedar Wood Lodge, you will enjoy a unique and tasteful blend of old and new. Nestled into two and one-half acres of heritage gardens and old-growth cedars along the scenic Somass River in Port Alberni, British Columbia, the Cedar Wood Lodge, built new in 1998, is furnished with modern comforts and beautiful antiques. The spacious guest lounge encompasses a fine billiards table, two small libraries, a relaxing sitting area, fireplace, and garden view bistro dining room where the complimentary daily breakfast buffet is served. Beverages include a variety of chilled fruit juices, milk, freshly ground premium French-pressed Arabica coffee, and a generous selection of the finest teas from around the world.
We came into Port Alberni after a long drive only to find that most of the rooms were booked with a convention and the Cops for Cancer crew. But after the assistance of the Best Western staff we are able to find a room at the Cedar Wood Lodge. What a beautiful place and the owners made us feel welcomed. I highly recommend staying there.
