The capital of Italy’s northernmost region of South Tyrol, Bolzano (Bozen in German) has only been Italian since World War I, and its character remains distinctly Germanic. At the center of the town, Piazza Walther is named for a 13th-century German minstrel. The town’s most famous resident, Ötzi the Iceman, dates from about 3300 BC and now rests at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. The striking new building for Museion, the city’s modern and contemporary art museum, opened in 2008.

The B and B is in a modern house in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are small and with no air conditioned can be very hot in summer. You find your keys in a box and there is nobody to provide you with information, help, only in the morning they ask you to pay for the local tax. The breakfast has to be taken in the room. Do not expect local bread or local food, what is supplied in the room is international industry food under plastic bags and sandwich loaf There are much better places to stay in downtown Bolzano

A dream becomes a vision, a vision gets reality: the Forsterhof is becoming a new, contemporary and sophisticated place.
My wife and I spent two nights here with a motorcycle tour group. The room was spacious and comfortable. All of the amenities were first class. The staff all seemed to be family...perhaps because this is a family business. They communicated perfectly with our mostly USA group. They were responsive to our needs and wants. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to be back

Guesthouse 37 is in a good location in central Bolzano at a reasonable price in a fairly expensive city. The room was quite small but fine for 1 night. I'm not sure I'd have wanted to stay there too long though. The arrangements are a little funny, but after calling the office en route we worked out where to stop to pick up the garage keys and then circle back round to park before gaining entry to the apartment.

Quite close to Bolzano south railway station. Cheap price even during the high season. The room is warm and comfortable, the big bathroom is well finished an clean. Nothing typical or Tyrol styled since it is modern.. If you are looking for Heidi's place this is not for you but the ratio price/quality for this hotel is very good. The breakfast is quite good.

We arrived at the address indicated with luggage and 2 children. At that address there was no one. A street hot dog seller was kind and explained us that we have to call and go to another address to receive the key. I started with the whole gang on foot, through the crowd to pick up the key. When I entered the apartment I was completely disappointed. There were stains and dirt on the floor. The sheets were not clean. Nothing in that house seemed clean. Instead of soap, there was a bottle almost empty of shower gel and 5 sachets of 7ml. Insufficient for 2 adults and 2 children. Wireless doesn't exist even though they told us it's free. The radiators were cold, only an air conditioner for heating but brought in only cold air. I called immediately but no one answered. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The central location does not compensate for the minuses.

Hotel is difficult to find and the first impression is rather dissapointing. Interriors though are nice and clean, staff very friendly and helpful but there is no wi-fi in the rooms (for which you pay ca 150 EUR!). The bathroom is clean but a bit smelly and there is no way to close the shower cabine (as there is none) so you end up with everything around completely soaked. Nice breakfast but if one of its ingredients finishes (like scrambled eggs or toasts) they don't refill it, so better hurry-up! Location ok if you don't mind 15 min walk to the city centre.

Our family of 4 stayed at the family apartment for 5 nights when we skied in the area. The hotel is recommended by our ski guide. It is a charming small hotel in an older house that is renovated/updated. We especially like its central location - just a few minutes walking to the old town center, 10 mins to the train station. The price is much more affordable than the hotel we previously booked (in town center). The space is huge and we feel very comfortable to have our own kitchen. Our host Giorgio has been kind and helpful. He offered to get basic groceries for us before our arrival because stores were close on Dec 25 when we arrived. Some suggestions to make the place better for future clients: 1. Add more lights to the bathroom, dining table area and sofa area. In Winter the place gets darker soon therefore having more light will make the place "happier" 2. There is enough space to add a toilet and sink outside of the main bathroom. With 2 toilets the apartment will be much more convenient for family or a larger groups. 3. Add a few more armchairs to make the place more cozy. The space is huge with potential - just adding some furniture will warm it up more! Again, we had a great stay!

Very friendly check-in. Room situated on the fourth floor with a lovely view across the valley towards the mountains. Spotlessly clean with comfortable bed, plenty of electrical sockets and a bathroom with plenty of hot water even though the hotel was full with a coach party. Despite the coach party we were served very efficiently in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast. The 'paella' was delicious, and the prices very reasonable. If coming by car to visit Bolzano, I would recommend leaving the car in the hotel's car park and taking the frequent local bus service as car parking in Bolzano (and indeed driving into the centre) can be very difficult. There is a handy group of shops next to the hotel including a chemists, a grocer's shop and a café, also a post box. However, opposite the hotel is a beautiful play park for children, shade and benches, but because of the increase in people crossing the road to access it, the municipality has changed the road surface from tarmac to paving stones which make passing cars sound much noisier. If you are at the front of the hotel, you may need to close the door to your terrace at night and use the air-conditioning to keep the room cool in summer. This is not the hotel's fault and there's nothing they can do about it though they have contacted the local Mayor to share their concerns and those of their guests. The hotel is definitely worth staying in, but please consider bringing earplugs if you think this might bother you. Do not let this deter you from staying at an excellent and reasonably-priced hotel with good connections for Bolzano and points south on the A22 motorway.
