A soft touch in a hard world ?

The welcome from staff is the first warm experience. The building itself is old, so the character is evident as you step inside the front door to the bar and restaurant. Our room was up one flight of stairs (handrail and push button lights for night). With two windows overlooking the bay and harbour of Donaghadee, our room, appropriately named "Drake" was bright and spacious. Two chairs and a desk, luggage rack and ottoman at the end of the bed were useful. A small foyer outside the bathroom contained an open wardrobe (great hangers not attached to the rail), teasmade, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was very large and was bright and modern with a bath squared at one end to facilitate showering. It's worth looking up special offers as we booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package which we thought was good value. We shall return. The restaurant is excellent. We had been twice before for lunch, but this time decided to stay over and not worry about driving home.

Beautiful, elegant guesthouse

I stayed here for 10 days while I was waiting to move house. The double house guesthouse is situated in a quiet, prestige area of Bangor with a large driveway for guests to park. Approximately 5 mins walking distance into the town centre and a few mins from the harbour. The room was a large double, modern, beautiful and clean. The ensuite was large and very modern. Plenty of heat and hot water all day. A fully fitted kitchen for guests to cook home from home. Ann, the proprietor is a very genuine and welcoming lady and went out of her way to make me feel happy, safe and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay in this timeless guesthouse during your visit to Bangor, Co. Down.

Simply Magnificent

Reviewed By Howfarishe

Due to the rough seas, we where stranded in Ireland for one more night (but what a beautiful country to be stranded in) This beautiful place was very close to us when we received the news about our Ferry. Upon arrival Terry was very welcoming to us and showed us all the amenities that their lovely place had to offer. The very first thing I did is run myself a hot bath, as the bath was one of the deepest bathes I had seen in years and this did not disappoint, it was the nicest bath that I had in years, I felt so relaxed after that bath! It had been a very busy day for us that day, so a great nights sleep was very much needed that night, and again the bed did not disappoint the firmness was perfect and we went to sleep like a “couple of logs” In the morning we both had a wonderful shower each and there was plenty of hot water. Then we got to sample the delights of the kitchen as in the Ulster breakfast which Terry and Avril had lovingly prepared for us, I started with stewed rhubarb yoghurt which was simply amazing. Then on to the 5 star Ulster breakfast which was worth the trip to Ireland alone, to sum up the breakfast “Simply magnificent” We will be going back to this beautiful part of Ireland very soon and when we do, we will be 1000% staying here again Highly recommended Mr and Mrs Bailey

We had a last minute change from a hotel in Belfast to the Princetown Guesthouse as our oldest decided to join us on our trip so needed extra space. We could not have been happier with the change!! The room was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. First thing I was pleased to find a lovely herbal fruit tea upon arrival that hit the spot perfectly. We enjoyed the snacks that were left for us including hard candies, cookies and sour gummies! my youngest loved the gummies! Breakfast was lovely and we all enjoyed the notecards on the table with trivia and points of interest, best being trivia related to the Titanic. led to some fun discussions over breakfast. Sonja and Gavin both took an interest in us and were a joy to talk with. Will need to come back and take you up on the "hot totty" sometime really soon! Thanks so much for a lovely stay! Look forward to coming back really soon!

What a wonderful place to stay. I cannot speak too highly of every aspect: the friendliness of the patrons, the staff, the cleanliness, the comfort, the breakfasts. You must stay here to beleive it. I have stayed here several times. Very convenient for Belfast and to get away to the airport missing the traffic. Will be back next week.
