Bells Beach is a surf beach, best known for the annual Bells Beach Surf Classic. It's not really a paddling beach, it's more for surfers, who love Bells. The beach can be treacherous, don't take risks in the water unless you are a strong swimmer. Bells isn't all that great to look at, it's the surf that makes it famous.

Logan's Beach is best known as the Whale Viewing Platform that oversees the Southern Right Whale nursery area.Southern Right Whales return to Warrnambool each year between July and October (seasons vary depending upon whale numbers) to give birth to their calves and then training them for the long journey south to Antartica.

Clamber over rocks to discover mini eco systems and secret marine worlds in the rocks along the beach... it's exciting never knowing what's going to hide in the rock pools. And if you tire of trying to find hidden delights you can simply walk along the beach and enjoy the view. This is a lovely beach just to spend time on... apparently it's a patrolled beach in Summer meaning that for young families it's probably a safer time...but for someone like myself who simply plays with the edge of the waves... this is a delight all year around.

When in Warrnambool you just have to take advantage of the Foreshore Promenade - it is a great walk, but it also stimulates the senses - the aromas, the seaspray, the sun, the surf, just a delightfully maritime experience...

We spent 1 night here on our Great Ocean Road drive. It is a small town and has a lovely little bay. Lovely of an evening watching the sunset

Cracking spot to bring a family. Gentle surf, good fishing. rock rambling or just a nice beach walk. Local paramedics had same idea as me. Park car, sit, eat lunch and enjoy the beauty.

The sanctuary is well worth a visit in low tide. The soaring sea cliffs and the little extinct volcanoes are amazing.

What a beautiful beach - at sunrise, sunset or any time in between. It is clean, staffed by life-savers so you know where to safely swim in the gorgeous surf, and play beach cricket at low tide!
