Monk Cocktail Bar

Reviewed By tonymC7518DB - St Helens, United Kingdom

Read the reviews and thought we'd give a go. Didn't book but got a table as it was early. Told straight away that it was ours for 90 minutes. Not an issue for us. Covid check in and staff fully masked up, menu explained and our first cockails ordered. Sit back and watch the magician do his stuff. 2 Tonka bombs dispatched. Superb first round drinks. Wife chatted about her favorite tipple and they were more than pleased to invent a cocktail for her, she even named it ' The Cheeky' Brillant from start to finish. Would recommend to anyone. If you are going late in the evening booking is essential.

The Earl Grey Inn

Reviewed By WinstonB74 - Leek, United Kingdom

Situated just up Ashbourne Road and well worth the less than 5 minute walk from Leek town centre. A seemingly permanent fixture in the Good Beer Guide and justifiably so. Excellent range of beers, a warm and friendly welcome, and a very pleasant pub interior with a great atmosphere. Very well done to the guys that own/run this place.

Maison Du Biere

Reviewed By petet257 - Birmingham, United Kingdom

This bar has found a really clever niche when compared to most U.K. bars, it’s a shop at the front for bottled beers and gins with the back of the shop a large bar where you can get a beer on tap. It’s got a good range of beers, a few wines and bubbles. What I particularly liked was free tea or coffee for a designated driver, a nice touch. It feels more like a beer cafe rather than an out and out bar, nice and informal with a very warm welcome from the owners. I’m a big beer drinker and instead of the usual pints of familiar beers, I had a few halves of beers I hadn’t heard of before. I was visiting Ashbourne to see my girlfriend’s family, I wish there was a bar like this in Birmingham. Clever idea, Good luck to them!
