Famed for its soccer team and music scene, which has produced the likes of the Smiths and Oasis, this center for sports and the arts is a down-to-earth and friendly city. The so-called Capital of the North has overcome industrial decline, bombing (in WWII and by the IRA) to become a confident and cosmopolitan city of well over two million. It is well served by a bus and light rail network. Top attractions include the Lowry art complex, arcade Affleck's Palace and Canal Street gay village.

In August 2019 we celebrated our sons marriage to Charlotte in Lock 91. Andrew and Charlotte had felt supported by Andi in the the planning and lead up to the wedding and he was no different on the day. Andi worked hard to ensure that everything ran smoothly even to stopping the traffic so we could board the bus to Cheathams library where the ceremony took place.. Lock 91 is somewhere different for a wedding, quirky decor and relaxed atmosphere which is what the bride and groome wanted. We were blessed with a fantastic day of Manchester sunshine and made good use of the outside terrace for canapes and drinks before moving up to the attic room for the reception. The food supplied by Cirvle Events was top quality and again different from traditional wedding reception food as we had sharing plates. The day flowed and we were able to relax and enjoy the occasion. We were partying until 1am . You should give lock 91 consideration if you are looking for an alternative location from the usual hotel venues. Just to add a thank you to Andi for helping us out when our van wouldn't start when went to collect some things from the venue. Very much appreciated.

Prebooked to attend on 23rd August .Arrived at the venue which looks just like an ordinary launderette. You have to phone using an internal phone and provide a code given at booking to gain entrance. We were greeted by Jamie who was our waiter for the evening. There is a brilliant range of unusual cocktails for which Jamie had an excellent knowledge .He and the other waiters were really friendly which alongside the ambience and the most amazing cocktails made this a very enjoyable evening, we cant wait to go back.

My partner and I came to Bring & Mix for our anniversary and had such a wonderful evening. We had 7 amazing cocktails, and the lovely staff were so nice to chat to (and super knowledgeable about the alcohols we had brought). The atmosphere was lovely, and everything down to the beautiful glasses was a treat. Ask for the chocolate orange cocktail- it's delicious.

The Wellington Inn is one of the only surviving Tudor buildings in Manchester city centre. Shambles Square is a very historic part of wonderful Manchester, with an interesting, rich history. Although there are 4 pubs in the square, we chose to admire the square from the overlook street. It's a wonderful place for a photo op. Charming beyond words!

The Comedy Store Manchester offers a unique blend of stand up comedy, fine dining and music. Every week from Thursday through to Sunday the best comedians on the circuit take to the stage. We also have a different comedy night every Sunday to round off the weekend.
Visited here for a birthday treat. Really enjoyed it. Great location off Deansgate, keeps it away from the busier streets which is nice. Open plan seating, tactically chose to sit off towards the side. Great range of drinks and very reasonable prices and a thoroughly enjoyable night of comedy, varied acts all funny. Did not eat at the venue but the packages which included food were available and from catching a glimpse of it, it did look very nice. Have recommended to several friends and will definitely visit again.

Paul and all his team make this restaurant very, very special. We brought our French friends from the south of France and trust me they like their food. They loved it too. Delicious, attentive, flexible. Just a brilliant experience. Every time we come here, it is fantastic. Thank you Paul and your wonderful team, everyone. The whole team. One thing my French friends have suggested is that the toilets are a bit dark and a bit more lighting maybe a good idea?. Can't wait to come back. Absolutely wonderful food and wonderful service. Ten star *

For over thirty years New York New York has been the beating heart of Manchester's Gay Village. Known for its hands-in-the-air nights with music that you can't help but sing along to, outrageous drag queens and, of course, a welcoming atmosphere - the venue has earned its nickname, The Party Palace. Every week we welcome thousands of party goers through the door, providing a safe place for the LGBT+ community and their allies. The club has raised countless thousands for charity with special themed nights and charity events. Owned and operated by Tracey Walsh, who was recently recognised in The Queen's New Year's Honours List with a British Empire Medal for services to charity, the venue prides itself on providing a place that allows you to be whoever you want to be.
