Every year thousands of hipsters, groupies, and die-hard fans flock to Austin for the annual South by Southwest festival, which has catapulted the Texas city up the must-visit charts for many travelers. The sandstone Capitol building is symbolic of the Lone Star State’s "bigger is better" mentality, featuring a gorgeous whispering gallery rotunda and 22 acres of grounds. Cool off with a dip in Barton Springs, a huge natural limestone pool that’s fed by underground sources.

Established in 1975 by the late Clifford Antone, Antone's is an iconic blues and R&B venue located in downtown Austin. Over the past 40 years, Antone's has brought Austin a variety of blues and R&B musicians from across the country including greats like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and Buddy Guy, as well as help develop local talent including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughn, Bob Schneider, Gary Clark Jr. and countless others. In 2015, the historic brand was restored and a new team brought the iconic venue back to the downtown Austin landscape with a renewed focus on once again making Antone's the "Home of the Blues."
What a great relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy live music and freindly people. highly recommend Betty Harris to anyone interested in real music

An authentic Austin original inspired by Johnny Cash. This Ultra hip dive bar right on the edge of downtown Austin is a great way to start or end the night. They have great cocktails and craft beers and the atmosphere cannot be compared.

Speakeasy-like bars are all the rage these days, but I have yet to find one with an ounce of authenticity until now. The Elephant Room, almost 30 years young, is a Jazz Club located in the basement of a building in the center of downtown Austin. Most people walk right by the entrance without ever noticing the dimly lit neon sign about ankle high, but downstairs you will find some of the best jazz Austin has to offer. The people are friendly - customers and staff alike – and jeans are welcome, despite the club’s sophisticated crowd. If you’re out on the town and looking for a nightcap, this is the place. Not a bad place to take a first date either.

The Stage on Sixth is Austin's most Rockin' country bar, and the only place on 6th Street to see live country music all night, every night. With 3 bars, a large dance floor and a huge patio/smoking area, there's room for every party at The Stage!
