You have to see this amazing bunch of comedians! You will have a smile on your face from start to finish. This group is so talented and will have your sides sore. The host may even give you a song ! It’s a brilliant night out or a great date night on a Wednesday in Dublin and the location at the duke is brilliant for those after work vinos ????

We were not planning on visiting this pub but stopped in to use their bathrooms....then simply stayed. It was Christmas time. Wow! what a joyful and festive atmosphere! the live music was breathtaking and the crowds were friendly and full of joy, i will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Dublin. I loved it!

We had a great lunch at the oldest pub in Dublin. It was very busy but the two of us managed to join a group of four visiting from Austria. Our order was taken promptly and the pints of Guiness arrived in minutes. As we finished our first pint and ordered a second one our food arrived. I can definitely say my Bangers and Mash was a delicious filling plate full of food. My friend equally enjoyed his Irish Stew.

O’Donoghue’s Pub was a historically significant drinking establishment located at 15 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, near St Stephen’s Green. Built in 1789 as a grocery store, it began operating full-time as a pub when purchased by the O’Donoghue family in 1934. This pub was closely associated with Irish traditional music and was where the popular Irish folk group, The Dubliners, began performing in the early 1960s. Today there was live Irish music being played while we sat and had a drink in an indoor area between the bar and the covered laneway. It was a memorable time late in the afternoon, and we even joined in the singing!

We went to The Palace to see a favourite musician as part of Tradfest 2020. We nearly walked past as it was so small and if not for Tradfest we would have probably not noticed the bar. The bar was so full of character and history, staff were friendly and welcoming. The back room where the musician was performing was amazing. The high glass ceiling was fabulous and the pictures all around the walls were fascinating. We had a great afternoon of brilliant music in such fantastic surroundings - it couldn’t get much better!! We will definitely be returning to The Palace next time we are in Dublin ( even if our favourite musician is not there) as it is such a great little place - thank you all.

You truly capture a sense of the hidden Ireland when you accidentally stumble upon The Stag’s Head. This is probably Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pub - and everything here is of authentic Victorian origin. Take time to look around and savour the sumptuously carved Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops. Visiting the Stag’s Head is a wondrous experience wether you call when the premises is cosy, warm and glowing at night time, or in early morning when this is old repository of liquid culture is radiantly illuminated by wafts of sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows. The mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern, being long and punctuated by exquisite partitions that divide into private compartments or stalls.

They have two options here on Tuesdays, a Ukulele session on the top floor and a comedy session in the basement. I had never heard of these but had my first date with my partner at the Ukulele session and it was so much fun. People just arrive with their own ukuleles and play modern songs! It's a great atmosphere and very relaxed. I have been a few times now and introduced friends to it too. They also have a free comedy session running at the same time in the basement (The Comedy Crunch) which accepts donations after the show and they provide a free ice-cream (milky moo) too. I've only been to this twice but it's also good for a date or with friends, depends on the comedians but I found them hilarious. If you want something different in the heart of town during the week this is a great place to go. You can also just have a drink on the main floor in a typical Irish pub ;)

This is largest thatched roof pub in Ireland. The name Taylor’s Three Rock is derived from two sources; The Taylor Family Homestead and Three Rock Mountain. Taylors served a 3 course dinner with a snifter of Irish whiskey and Irish coffee to finish off the meal. They also put on a superb 2 hour action packed show with traditional Irish dancers, table top tap dancing, Dublin traditional Irish musicians, comedy; Rob Vickers, an Irish Tenor who has performed on London’s prestigious West End, Europe & North America, also in Les Miserable in London’s west End. A beautiful performance by Rebecca Murphy, a superb soprano & harpist singing “Hallelujah”, one of my favourites.
