The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. The Shimogamo Shrine dates to the 6th century and seems suspended in time, its serenity and spiritual power still palpable. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, then see the life-sized Thousand Armed Kannon statues of Sanjūsangen-dō. Enjoy traditional geisha performances, then savor a tranquil meal at a restaurant overlooking the Kamo River.

The oldest night club in Japan since 1990, Metro is becoming the source of cultural trends with a strong focus on quality of music, art, etc. Many local artists started out at Metro and advanced overseas like Mondo Grosso, FPM, to name a few. In addition we have been inviting a variety of artists from across the globe monthly like, Aphex Twin, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Daft Pank, Arto Lindsay, James Blake, Africa Bambaataa, etc, any more. In the early evenings Metro sometimes host a culture school “Metro College” that picks up a variety of themes such as; minimal arts, movies, and talk shows . We also help to showcase Kyoto's culture through partnership with Kyoto City on events like the International Art Festival. Another AWESOME fact, we were ranked 14th on the list of “the weirdest places."
