‘Thol Isai Kalanjiyam’ is a museum of ancient musical instruments. It has a collection of 80 instruments, some obsolete and many still in Vogue. The display includes classical concert instruments, folk instruments and temple instruments. The Museum was inaugurated on17th February 2019 by his Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu. The Museum provides in depth information about the instruments in addition to portraying the history of the Tamil Isai Sangam. Thol Isai Kalanjiyam is a valuable resource for music students and an eye opener for every visitor.
Very nice initiative by the Organisation, We can get Authentic and Traditional information about the rare instruments:)

Tenth century paintings, religious statues and relics occupy one building while the other contains mostly modern works.
A somewhat confusing place if you didn't have a guide to direct you. Several galleries, the most fascinating of which was the Bronze Statue Gallery. Interesting to see the same deities interpreted from different ages. Photography is limited in some areas which is disappointing.

An unassuming introduction to local art, the Cholamandal Village is a serene set-up, displaying works of upcoming and established artists, painters and sculptors from South India. It was built in 1966 and is nine kilometers from the city. The village houses an art gallery, museum and an amphitheater for theater performances. This is a residential village for the artists, so a polite reserve is appreciated.
I am not a modern art fan. The art here, however, blew me away - it was so evocative of what I believe to be India that it made me aware of the socio-political contexts of art. The museum itself is so unassuming that it's easy to pass it by. But it's become a highlight of my Madras experience, and I will re-visit with friends (my friends from Spain were impressed too) whenever I can.

CLICK ART MUSEUM is a place with big pictures of optical illusions that will fill one's head with Idyllic creations. It will make the participant's to find themselves transformed into another world, probably re-born as Mona Lisa's guest or Atlas's Friend , A world of trick art! Click Art Museum is conceptualized and created by Artist Ap. Shreethar
3D Click Art Museum inside the same VGP Snow world complex. We had a wonderful time here. Everyone was motivated to get out of their comfort zone and explore the 3D world around them. It was a fantastic experience. Suggested positions to be taken beside the 3D art for best photographs, by the creator, was well thought out as it gives you the best pictures.

The former palace is a massive neglected compound with towers and courtyards. The Art Gallery houses an impressive collection of bronze and stone statues.
One of the must visit place, if you’re visiting Thanjavur. Palace is an historic place which has countless artefacts and statues which are a sight to behold. Let me tell you that this place cannot be covered in a single day, if you’re planning to visit all of them. This place houses few museums. One of them is controlled by the Govt of Tamilnadu & otter museums by the Royal Family. There is a huge library as well. You will be amazed by the magnitude of the construction and the way each and every portion is designed. It is better to check the opening hours before you could make the visit. This place is in the centre of the city & is surrounded by various establishments. It has ample parking facility too. I was amazed to see the beauty of Statues apart from the artefacts, old coins to name a few. Highly recommended.
