Busan is Korea's second largest city. Tourists often come to this region to hike and to visit the Buddhist Temples located deep within the region's mountains. The Beomeosa Temple, founded in 678 AD, is perhaps one of the most frequented temples in the area and is always packed with worshipers and tourists. For art buffs, Busan offers several museums and historical buildings. If scenery is your thing, try visiting the Dongbaek Island, or bird watch at the Nakdong river estuary.

Goeun Museum of Photography, which was established by Goeun Foundation, is the first museum specializing in photography in a locality. The museum is dedicated to building photography archives, planning high-quality exhibitions and discovering and supporting new, future-oriented and creative artists. Also, for popularization of photographic art, our museum pursues the role of a regional open cultural art space, by providing various services such as publication, education and academic seminars. The museums open to the public for free. We hope that both Goeun Foundation and Goeun Museum of Photography, which were established on passion and love for culture and art, can be a foundation for cultural development of the region and vitalization of Korea Photographic art.

We had heard about the reputation of the Busan Museum of Art, as being a terrific museum for Contemporary Art. The art displayed, and the execution of the display of this art, is above reproach. There is apparently a second space with more of their Permanent Collection displayed, which we did not visit. But this is a MUST for CONTEMPORARY Art lovers. And our admission was free!

Radium Art Center is a 20th-century contemporary art exhibition place that provides an immersive experience through vanguard and influential artists. Each featured exhibition uses various mediums to aid each viewer's unique experience. Formerly established in 1992 as the Dongbaek Art Center, Radium Art Center adopted a new name and location on the shores of the famous Haeundae Beach, nestled among South Korea's most luxurious resorts. At the entrance of the art center, there is the espresso bar ‘Curie’ and a specialty art shop ‘Dolly’ that dons gifts such as art prints, postcards, handmade French plush sculptures, and exclusive items specially shipped from Boutique de Louvre France. Having diverse goals, Radium Art Center not only showcases art in different forms but also strives to educate and inspire. Visitors can come alone and view at their own pace or follow a customized education program in a group.
Lovely surprise, on my way back from Haedong Yonggung Temple, I stopped over at the Radium Art center. It's a small art gallery with few rooms but with so much exclusive art creation from The french photographer Villers. Also, what makes this art gallery so exceptional, is the kindness of the director, she used to know personally Villers and around an espresso she can tell you or explain so many things about the exposition. The art gallery being a bit small, and if you are not an absolute fan of photography i truly advise to couple this visit with other activities around (there are tons of them)
Enter the fascinating world of illusion which will trick your confidence in senses, but amaze you by doing it; the world that will confuse you completely, but also educate you… Visit us and you will be thrilled because nothing is what it seems, especially not in the Museum of Illusions!
