Some of the most loved (and most photographed!) features of Toowoomba’s street scape are the more than 80 large scale street art murals dotted throughout the city. The amazing works are thanks to the First Coat International Art Festival that has brought nationally and internationally recognised outdoor artists to Toowoomba over many years. Grab your camera and wander through our streets and lanes to see how these once blank spaces have been brought to life by dozens of talented artists. Be sure to also check out the First Coat Artist Studio Space and Indoor Gallery run by the team behind organising this festival - based at 6 Laurel Street Toowoomba.
Do yourself a favour and allocate half a day to exploring all of the street art Toowoomba has to offer! There are some rally stunning pieces and it adds so much to this cool little city.

The history of the district is celebrated at Dogwood Crossing, the cultural hub of Miles community. This building is architecturally stunning with seven-metre-tall stylised bottle trees forming a colonnade down its center. Home to the John Mullins Art Gallery, Library and IT Centre.

This was on our must-see list while in St George. Find the sign in the main street, and follow the emu/footprints. The work that has been put into these eggs is unbelievable, and the presentation is amazing. Well worth a visit.

Kingaroy Art is filled with wonderful art work show casing local talent from art crafts, paintings, to gemstones and jewelry. Art work is for sale and you can pick up some beautifully crafted items. It's free to visit and only need to spend short time walking through the rooms/ hallways. I thought the building is beautiful with art deco and interesting ceiling features too. Next door is the town Information Centre to buy souvenirs and next building is the Heritage Museum to visit. Nice gardens out the back to sit down for a rest stop and public toilets available also.

Best regional art gallery I've ever experienced. Beautiful setting and the gallery space is to be experienced. Speaking to some vollies they are very proud of their gallery which supports a large group of local artists as well as holding the respected Stanthorpe Art Prize biannually. Have vivisted the gallery numerous times. Got lucky to be there once when some works from the galleries extensive collection were on display. Some amazing work.

The Met Gallery - a continuous exhibition of artworks for sale by regional member Artists and Artists on consignment. Met Galleries was founded in January, 2014 by Richard Coles and Evan Hollis, both Artists in their own right, who were encouraged by the abundance of burgeoning Toowoomba Artists. Drop in the Gallery and chat to anyone of the member Artists on site.
