Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Recently visited The Drawing Center and they had 2 excellent exhibits on view. The gallery is very clean and bright with all white walls to showcase the art. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Currently, admission is free due to a grant from the Cy Twombly Foundation which is an added bonus.

Put on your favorite hue and come to us for color!
I was looking for something different and unique to do with my 13 year old daughter and her friend when visiting NYC. I stumbled upon The Color Factory during an internet search. The 3 of us had a blast. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. The staff continued to be friendly throughout the exhibits. All of the rooms were interactive in some way. In the beginning you register your own “credit card” that has a QR code. In most of the exhibits there are “photo booth” opportunities where you scan your card, get your picture taken, and then get them emailed to you at the end of your visit. Some highlights are: sweet treats throughout the rooms, merry-go-round room, dance floor room and the largest ball pit I’ve ever seen. It turned this adult into a kid! To some the price may seem a bit pricey (I didn’t really think it was) but you get so much for the price of admission: treats, pictures, free coat/bag check. It’s definitely worth a visit. They even extend the Color Factory experience out into the neighborhood. With a provided map you can explore close to 20 different establishments that offer things to see, eat, buy, or do. Unfortunately it was pouring rain the day we went so we couldn’t explore, but I sure wish we did.
