Constant Companion and I have acquired a few pieces of Lladro over he years. We took photographs of these and the signatures on them. We hoped to get some additional information about them at the factory and we were were not disappointed! The Lladro factory is outside Valencia in an industrial park. It is a taxi ride from city center and there are not any attractions nearby! Furthermore, you must email to arrange your visit and tour weeks prior to you visit! Note that photographs are not permitted inside the factory, just in the showroom. We arrived at security around 15:30 and were met by our contact and tour guide Ana Monrabal, who was absolutely fantastic throughout!! Ana took us step by step through the time consuming process and even allowed us to speak with some of the ladies, who are artisans there. Turns out one of the artists knows the person who made our ballerina and advised us to hold on to it! We loved this visit to one of the premier makers of fine porcelain in the world and could not leave without a small purchase, but be advised that there is no pressure at all to buy anything!!

This shop is located in one of the loveliest little plazas in Vaslencia Old Town - right opposite a beautiful old bookshop - and it sells an extremely wide range of ceramic and tiles of the region. I was particularly impressed with the socarrat tiles, that I didn't know yet - bought four tiles, adn was thankful for the hand-luggage restrictions, otherwise I could have spent a lot of money in thus shop! I loved almost all the dozens of patterns on the socarrat tiles. The other tiles styles are also beautiful - either the blue and white or the multicoloured ones - as were the colourful pottery, all in very good taste, which is not that common with regional folk pottery. All in al, highly recommended if you want an original and beautiful souvenir from Valencia. The only downside is they don't take card payments, which can be inconvenient if you want to spend a little more.
Contemporary art gallery inaugurated in 2015 in the historic center of Valencia. It emerges with the objective of offering an intergenerational proposal of national art of great caliber, whose speech is complemented by the voice of avant-garde artists.
