This is a great store. Artists display their work from all over US. I visit each time I vacation in the area. Love seeing all the different handmade items. From dishes, serving pieces, jewelry, gift items, and food items, etc. Ladies are always friendly and helpful.

The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum shares the stories of a Mississippi movement that changed the nation. The museum promotes a greater understanding of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement and its impact by highlighting the strength and sacrifices of its peoples. Visitors will witness the freedom struggle in eight interactive galleries that show the systematic oppression of black Mississippians and their fight for equality that transformed the state and nation. Seven of the galleries encircle a central space called This Little Light of Mine. There, a dramatic sculpture glows brighter and the music of the Movement swells as visitors gather.
The museum is amazing. You can step into the jail cell or watch videos of what led to the civil rights movement. The museum is filled with people and events that are displayed from the floor to the ceiling. We didn't have enough time to see the upstairs, so be sure to allow enough time to see everything. It is very moving to see how men and women believed in a better world for their families and what the sad reality of it was like for them to do so.

Dot Courson Studio and Fine Art Gallery is a private working studio and large art gallery. Located right on Hidden Creek just off Hwy 278, it features all of Dot's beautiful southern landscape paintings in a light-filled, airy, and open art gallery. The contemporary realism oil paintings -her Rural South Collection- have made her one of Mississippi's beloved artists and one of the true legends in the arts. Interactions with the artist directly is an opportunity for collectors to view works in progress and discover the inspiration behind the works. Dot Courson Gallery also represents Dot's daughter, award-winning portrait artist, Susan Patton who also owns her own studio and gallery located near Bruce, MS.
I found Dot by googling for an artist who paints agriculture landscapes, and I have been overjoyed ever since! Her landscapes are beyond what words can describe! I was excited to have found her and browsed over her works of art on her webpage, but to actually see them in person at her studio? WOW! It is as if you are standing there in the scenes she has painted! After My husband and I made the trip to her studio, we couldn’t have felt more welcome than if we had been friends or family for years! Her husband and mine got along so well talking farming together, and Dot herself, is like meeting a true Southern lady with grace and just the right amount of grit! We hope to visit her and her studio again in the future. We are just so pleased with the Cotton landscape we commissioned! It was just the right touch we needed in our new home!
