Consenses' exhibit is an all ages artistic journey through the senses allowing visitors to touch, smell, taste, watch, listen and interact with art using each piece as a lens through which to perceive the inner world of the artists. The Exhibit, a mere 1 minute walk from the Vineyard Haven Ferry, is a series of 6 rotating sets. Each began its life as a photograph which was then given to a musician to interpret and translate into a song, their song was interpreted by a dancer, their dance was interpreted by a poet, their poem by a painter, the painting by a perfumer, the perfume by a sculptor and the subsequent 7 piece collection by a set designer. The result of experiencing Consenses is an overall feeling of "enlightenment," empathy, excitement, appreciation, understanding and peace. Visitors are encouraged to interpret the art on display for themselves and express their own perceptions using creative centers within the exhibit. Come spend an hour or a day with us discovering the nature of your own internal process. Leave with a broader understanding of yourself, others and the world around you.

The glass work was absolutely beautiful. The owner explained the different types of glass, had specialty glasses for us to wear to see the colors as he made the glass pieces.

Michael Magyar’s Glass blown pieces are simply beautiful and very Cape Cod. He produces some terrific pieces including goblets and vases that are perfect for weddings and treats for yourself. I have given quite a few pairs as wedding gifts and for a smaller token (app $20.00) he has these great glass stars that look lovely in front of a window. I have given these to guests as a Cape souvenir. There are plenty of items to choose from and they’ll engrave them right on the spot.

A visit to The Art of David Arsenault Gallery in the heart of Rockport offers you a timeless interpretation of the Cape Ann experience. Colorful, peaceful scenes of Rockport, Gloucester, and more, along with unique perspectives on our world, leave you feeling at peace yet engaged and seeing in a different way when you return to the outdoors. The next time you visit Rockport, step inside the gallery and meet David and his wife Sue, enjoy relaxing jazz music, and take your time viewing dozens of original oil paintings and a variety of canvas giclée prints. Be sure to bring your own unique way of seeing—along with your love of art and Cape Ann.
David is an artist with impressive skill working with oil on canvas, and a romantic capturing the special atmosphere of coastal Maine. I love the detailed rendering of houses, outbuildings and landscapes in a seasidey setting. I love the interiors with the play of sunlight beaming through old wooden double-hung windows. He captures childhood memories. A visit to his gallery and chat with him is a highlight of a visit to Rockport! Robert Hastings
