Today, Trieste has a pleasant mix of historic buildings and squares (piazza). That's why the walk and sightseeing of this beautiful city are both pleasant and exciting. One of the beautiful buildings is Borsa Vecchia (Old Stock Exchange). Right next to Piazza Unita d 'Italia, there is Piazza della Borsa, with the pretty building of the Borsa itself. During the 19th century, this square was in fact used as the economic center of the city. Construction on the neoclassical building began in 1802 and it opened its doors in 1805. Borsa Vecchia served as the stock exchange until 1844 and today it is home to Trieste's Chamber of Commerce. Borsa Vecchia was designed by Italian architect Antonio Mollari. The large portico with four Doric columns gives the building its Grecian aesthetic. Building exceptionally beautifully shows the power of trade and trading. Very nice.

Since I am a fan of all Vienna Secession representatives, I couldn't miss out on a building, created by an architect of this art movement. Situated in the Piazza della Borsa, truly stands out from the rest of the buildings in the square.
