A collection of 1,400 beehive buildings built and lived in by peasants.
Alberobello is a lovely town in Puglia which, while being a World Heritage site preserving Trulli architecture in a theme park like environment, also conveys a sense of vibrant Southern Italian life. Worth adding to your exploration of Puglia even if just for a day visit.

The interior of this cathedral is plain but given its age, it appears to be in excellent condition and is a good example of a structure of its time. But what really makes this a must see is the museum in the underground area (accessed from the lower level of the cathedral). The cost is only 3 Euros pp which is well worth it to see the ancient structures and mosaics which are presented with excellent lighting and some very interesting modern art.
