In addition to being an architecture practice, HGZ sells architecture books, the only such store in Norway!, as well as other curated objects, ceramics, furniture and photos. All made by architects! The book selection focuses on Central European, in particular Swiss, architecture, but the range of books is still significant, and it is continuously expanded and updated! This attraction doesn’t even have an entrance fee. We were allowed to go in even though one chamber was closed due to a marriage celebration and reception on going . Impressive, with art depicting murals of Norwegian history coupled with Norse mythology. This is also the official venue of the Nobel Peace prize done annually.

Ostbanehallen is the oldest part of Oslo Central Station, first opened in 1852 and reconstructed in 1882. In 2012 it was transformed to a modern oasis with beautiful old architecture. Now you can find here many restaurants and bars. Many have also outdoor serving during the summer months. Oslo Visitor Center and Comfort Hotel Grand Central are located here. The place is close to the Opera and Karl Johan Street.

Barcode is a destination in Oslo, Norway, well known for its striking architecture. The 12 Barcode buildings is both tall and thin, and the architecture concept has received worldwide recognition. Each building is unique, but when you see them from afar, they resemble a barcode form, hence the name. The distinctive shape is Oslo’s new skyline. When visiting the area, you will discover that it is more to experience than the modern architecture. You will find restaurants, shops, services and galleries on the street level that is worth the trip alone. Welcome!
A big complex and district of modern architecture. Striking new norwegian architecture and new city planning. Just a few years ago this area was totally different. This is a kind of showroom of modern architecture.
