10 Architectural Buildings in Financial District That You Shouldn't Miss

November 12, 2021 Janette Largent

Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

Transamerica Pyramid

Located in downtown San Francisco, this building, shaped like a pyramid, is a well-known symbol of the city skyline.

I visited the Transamerica Pyramid, which is a business building, and spent time at the Transamerica Pyramid Redwood Park. The building was built in 1972 and was for a period of time the tallest building in San Francisco. With the recent high rise building going on in San Francisco, it has now been replaced by such building such as the Sales Force Building.
